Good value along with good product.

Radio is light but still stable. Surprisingly good sound for such a small unit. Selectivity very good. Better then some brand name portables I have had in the past.

This is a newer model of the same radio that I remember my grandmother had for emergencies. I could have chosen the digital version (maybe I should have for easier use) but this radio is exactly how I remembered and anticipated. I live in an area that often has power outages and can keep up with news radio and alerts. It's compact, reliable, and exactly what I wanted. Thank you, Radio Shack, for continuing tradition!

I love the radio shack brand for radios, I had another pocket radio that I had for years, when I moved I misplaced it and I ordered this one and I am very pleased with it. The reception is great. Love this radio.

I have a lot of Radio Shack Radios and the parts in the Radios are very good. Reception is great far away radios stations. I also have Weather Radios which you might like when the weather is not good.

I really like this little guy. Good pocket radio. Sensitive and selective. It's my arsenal of pocket radios I keep for bad weather. Works with an external loop but is good enough that you often just don't need it. Buy one!

Best pocket radio I can find
I had purchased two of these before and both worked very well and had a descent sound when music was played from FM Stations.
I was impressed enough to get a third one to give my Son who lives elsewhere and does not have a battery radio but does have frequent power outages. If nothing else he can tune in local stations to find out if the power will be off long enough to plug his Refrigerator and Freezer into his home Generator.
I drove 25 miles away from my city and was able to get our local AM radio station loud enough to listen to a favorite program. Reception was about as good as the car radio on AM and the same with the FM stations.
A previous Radio Shack radio model has lasted many years. It has been dropped more times than I have counted and it is still working like new with the exception of a few batteries leaking and rusting the spring connectors. When the wife is not looking I borrow her nail file and clean the terminals and it works like new for a few months.
Both the old and new Radio Shack units sound great for their size and are similar in AM and FM reception range. They both have a tremendous sound with a reasonably decent set of ear phones. They sound very good on cheaper ear phones. Both the low and high frequencies are remarkably realistic like my quality stereo.

Good little radio
This is what Ive been wanting for a long time.

This is as good as or better than other pocket radios
The tuner is slightly more sensitive to zero in on a station. My older model that still works after over 10 years of droping it, has a better frequency lock function.
I have run it 3 days on carbon AA batteries and it is still working.
I constantly misplaced the old one. I misplaced it and ordered two of these new models. FREE shipping when I ordered two.
I found the old radio hours after placing the order. I have one for each car when I go places and one for the house that I can misplace again.
Both new models work/sound exactly the same. Now I am happy for another 10 or more years.
The sound is outstanding on medium quality ear phones and better on quality ear phones.
People are always asking where is the music coming from or who is talking. Few people of this newer generation know what a pocket radio is. They talk about something expensive like an I-pod and ear buds.
Being in my mid 70's, I remember a 3 transistor radio in the 1950's for $4.00 and a 5 transistor radio for $6.00 dollars, but the tuner was only AM and only for local and reasonably near stations. I would have had to spend near $10 bucks to get one that had AM and FM.
This unit is almost as good as my home or car radio for reception.
If this Radio Shack radio will take a beating like my old R.S. one did then it is going to last a long time times two. I found that a rubber band around the top and another around the bottom keeps it from sliding out of my shirt pocket.
Happy user
Just right on sept 20
Good old analog. good reception in a difficult area especially where digital radio does not have good reception.

Great radio, tuning overly sensitive...
I had a similar “pocket radio” as this decades ago when I was a little boy. Back in those days, it was only an AM radio. I was delighted to find this in the recent Radio Shack advertisements.
About two weeks after I received it, Hurricane Laura knocked out our electricity for about a week and this little receiver was our main information source during the howling winds.
This is such a wonderful little receiver. The size is perfect because it doesn’t chew up the batteries. But in spite of the small size, the speaker is loud for easy listening. My only complaint is that the tuner is hyper sensitive--one can easily tune past the radio station so practice is needed.
I am quite pleased with this receiver.

Great little transistor radio
I've been using these radios from Radio Shack for about 15 years. They keep getting smaller, but they still work well. I live in a house that has interference from a TV antenna, and regular radios can't tune in as well as this radio, and I kept these in several rooms. This time, I bought 3 radios. Two are fine and one didn't work--turned on but no sound. Radio Shack paid for the return shipping. I am pleased with the product and the service.

Would buy again
This little radio is great! It’s the perfect size to take to work. It works great. Some radios get static if you don’t touch but not this one.
