Here is the overall: Openened up the box my friend got for christmas. [We thought it was going to be a piece of junk] Took the two out(It was a double pack) and put on the wings, and started charging them. We started flying and we got absorbed. Spent the next 3 hrs flying around trying to hit other people. Also has a "dogfight" function so you can shoot your opponents chopper and deactivate it. The next day we kept playing with them... Eventually the wings get really battered from crashing(Replaced after about 50 flights)and the little plastic propellers fell off and flew into corners of the house... never found em... Good thing it comes w/ 2 replacement props and 2 extra blades. Lots of little kids were over too. They wanted to play but complained about the hard to control choppers and threw them to the ground. It is somewhat hard to control, staying stable is difficult and the things dont steer very well.

My first air RC. The IR takes some getting used to. It moves slowly horizontally which, in combination with its light design, makes it susceptible to small air currents. Easy to learn and very sturdy -- I've smashed into obstacles dozens of times and it still works like it did out of the box. Some rubber cement on the propeller shafts will help keep the propellers from coming off.

Comments about WowWee WowWee® FlyTech Bladestar™ Indoor Flyer:

My nine-year-old and five-year-old were severly disappointed as both of their machines prove to be unreliable and respond haphazardly to the remote control. By day two, both machines were ready for the trash. Too bad, so sad.

I work for RS and I really enjoyed this toy. I have trouble controlling the other RC flyers, but this one worked fine for me. I really like that you can hover it at a certain height. I also like the feature to fly two at the same time and have them battle each other. We've had it out for over a month and besides managing to cause a rotor to come off, but not break, it has not broken. And beleive me, us employees are harder on the toys then customers.
Just don't overtighten the screw on the controller or you will have a tough time getting new batteries in!
Use the top portions to hold the extra rotors for on the go switching

It should say something that this was the only product that they would not let me open in the store. The salesperson sold this hard and then it turned out that they had never operated it. It was very flimsy. This design is very odd at best and I do not think that children would think it was fun. There are a lot of good helicopters at Radio Shack. I would go with the Whirlwind 3000 for the same price.

Bought this for my son's 10th BDay, as it was recommended by store manager. He wouldn't let me take it out of the box and look at it, but if I had I wouldn't have purchased it for any child or teen.
It's flimsily constructed out of mostly cheap styrofoam. My Dad and I had trouble removing the wings, and couldn't get the hang of flying it over a long weekend. It's going back...

Comments about WowWee WowWee® FlyTech Bladestar™ Indoor Flyer:

I've flown RC aircrafts for a long time, so I know a bit about flying objects. I buy flying toys to play with my 3 yr old. I was very impressed by the Dragonfly by the same company, I bought 2 of them and we had a lot of fun. But this is very disappointing. The only thing it does well is hover. It's boring to fly and not reliable, after 5 or 6 uses, one motor fails regularly. I regret my money.

Comments about WowWee WowWee® FlyTech Bladestar™ Indoor Flyer:

Great product, easy to control indoors, and very fun. however the autopilot doesn't work very well and it is more fun to fly it yourself. It occasionally didnt respond to the controller and went out of control, bouncing all over the room, which is bad because it can break skin if it touches you while in flight. other than that, lots of fun, even if you suck at flying other RC toys. reminds me of the Manhacks from Half Life 2.
