How is this radio control if it is connected by cord???? What a disappointment.

I bought two of these for my 3-year old. Be aware that the trucks are connected to the controller via a cord. The cord is about 8' long; you have to walk behind the truck as it moves. That hasn't really been an issue for us. Like most other inexpensive RC cars, steering is minimal; you push the control forward to go forward, backwards makes it go backward with a turn in one direction. The second control stick control controls the dump truck bed. It really goes up and down. My little guy fills it with whatever he can find and likes to dump it out. The red buttons you see in the picture are sound buttons. Not excessively loud or annoying, but if you need it to be quiet for whatever reason there is a switch on the controller that mutes the sound buttons. It's not super fast or very fancy, but it's a fair price for this type of vehicle, especially if you've got a truck freak you're shopping for. My 3 year old can work the controls fine and 9 year olds have played with it but I don't think it's all that gripping for kids much older than that. It's so far (3 month) held up to the abuses a three year old and his friends have dealt out such as pulling awfully hard between the truck and controllers (like a tug-o-war) and being thrown across the room in a fit of anger. Points for durability!
