Comments about RadioShack Toyota® Tundra RC Truck:

Well its wierd. Sometimes Ill charge the battery and it will go great and power through mud and snow great. But then other times it will go slow but still last full battery life. I hate how you cant tap forward and have it go like a little bit. Its overresponsive and goes like half a foot even when you quickly press forward. Sick truck though. Made a plow for it and it doesn't ever hesitate. Love the 4wd. Great traction!

This is a great truck, simular to the Roughneck-an another truck I have from Radio Shack but much better for going though the yard. use of rechargable batteries is a good idea- uses power quickly.

Im 16 now and got my toyota tundra a week ago, o and trust me i know my rc trucks. . . . not a bad truck. It does ok on rocky terrain but it gets high centered very easily :/ it's not a fast truck at all which reduces the climing ability. Other then that it's a pretty good truck.

My boyfriend and I really love this truck. I stripped it of all the accesories and lights. It seems to get more speed as a result. We take our real Jeep off road and when we find a puddle or mud take the litte truck through it. We are both happy with it.

Highly suggest the rechargable battery pack, more power way longer play time and it saves $$. Goes through almost anything in low range. Kids love it. I had several failed attempts with ONLINE RC deals and finally spent a bit more at RS to get two Tundras (with 2 frequencies) both boys can drive at the same time.

Comments about RadioShack Toyota® Tundra RC Truck:

Radio Shack has done it again- a well made RC truck with a good drive train, good RC electronics at a fair price.

I wish the low speed gearing was taller- so it would have more torque and climb better. It will tend to stall on steep grades. It also tends to rear up and pitch over backwards on slopes, due to its short wheelbase.

Throw away the useless tray for alkaline batts. As a minimum, you need the Radio Shack 1600mAh NiCd battery pack. Even better, I recommend 2200mAh NiCd batteries which you can get from battery suppliers (do a Google search).

The toy is heavy and as a result is somewhat under-powered. The Radio Shack Jeep (60-375) can run rings around it, but the Jeep is only 2WD. It gets stuck in places the Tundra won't. It's great fun playing with the Tundra.

After your warranty expires, you might consider a mod. I added a single 1.2 volt C-cell to the bed, which I wired in series with the 9.6 volt battery
pack. This gives the toy enough of a performance boost that the difference is readily noticeable. I have used the mod for over a month, and the motor, power transistors and drive train take it all in stride. i.e. nothing smokes. I wouldn't use more than 1 cell though- that WILL cook something.

Enough said- go buy one and enjoy!

Comments about RadioShack Toyota® Tundra RC Truck:

I bought the black version back in March of '08 for my nephew and it worked fairly well for the first couple of times. I did have to buy the battery pack/charger, but since the Tundra was $20 off, it was a wash. I came back into town at the end of August and the truck no longer works. Lights come on, but no dice. I fiddled with it as best as I could, but I believe the Xmitter is DOA.

Sad, because the kid really didn't play with it that much, from what I gather.

We've been using a Nikko Red Beach Patrol Hummer and it's still going strong, although it probably cost more than $50 total.

Maybe I should stuff this into a cannon and shoot it back to China?
