I have had my 360 for about 2 weeks,I play about 3 or 4 hours roughly a day and i havent had to change the bataries yet and my controller still has almost full batarie power.
I've had my XBOX for about a month and it came with a wireless remote. At first, I figured "why pay more for a wireless controller?", but now I'm glad that I did. This controller gets great range (I was able to navigate menus from other rooms across the house abd it worked flawlessly... not that I would do that often, but I was just testing the range).
And to solve the other reviewer's problem with battery life, simply invest in one of the rechargable Microsoft battery packs. I bought that and a battery charging station, plus an extra battery. Basically, you get 25 hours of gameplay off of one 2 hour charge. I charged my battery at least 2 or 3 weeks ago and after lots and lots of gaming, it's still 3 quarters full as my other brand new, spare battery sits fully charged, yet lonely and unused.
For a short while, I did own a plug and play, which is a wire that plugs into your XBOX and the controller and charges while you play. But I made the mistake of buying it used from GameStop and it didn't work for very long. I exchanged it for the charging station now I can't get the darn battery to die!
Overall, I highly recommend this over a wired controller. There is no clutter of the wires and range is incredible. Besides the plug and play issue (which had nothing to do with the controller), I have had absolutely no problems with this controller.
The controller is great I think all 360 ownersa should have a wireless one instead of the wired ones that get in the way
Its perfect but every 5 minutes or so it'll shut off depending on your baterie. I just bought brand new duracel bateries and it worked for 2 hours of gameplay then started going on and off every 5 minutes. It completly screws up gameplay.
