Comments about Mad Catz Mad Catz Game Pad Controller for Xbox 360®:
About 2 months after I purchased a new xbox 360, the wireless controller it came with had broken, so I sent it to xbox in hope of getting a replacement. In the meantime I wanted a cheap replacement. The price is most defintely the only good charactericstic of this product.
I found at my local electronics store the madcatz xbox controller, and the very fist indication of its poor quality came when I found out the left thumbstick button did not work. I went back to the store and got a replacement.
Anyone who has the fine controllers that are made by xbox will imediately notice a difference in how the madcatz thumbsticks are EXTREMELY sensitive and jerky in relation to their xbox counterparts. As a result, I turned my sensitivity to 1 (lowest) but still found my aiming extremely unpredictable and jerky.
Back on track, when I picked up the madcatz again later, I thought I'd give a more thorough investigation of the right thumbstick, and found that it gets into ruts, paths of movement, into which it will move extremely fast, while at the same time it is hard to get the thumbstick moving in other directions, giving it a jerky feel, because you have to overcome stubborn thing's desire to stay centered.
Aside from its poor thumbstick quality, because of the configuration of the select and start buttons they have a tendancy to get stuck together, and stuck down, and because the xbox does not have a sticky key setting this become extremely noticeable.
On to the triggers, when using the triggers, I found that it is impossible to know when the button will engage, resulting in excessive clicking in hopes engaging it as soon as possible.
The bumper buttons are also extremely unresponsive so you may have to hit them 2 or 3 times before they engage.
To sum it up, they're not worth the trouble, they're hunks of junk that make your gameplay suffer.
