I use this for car/plane travel and it worked fine with my old (4th gen, b/w, no video c.2003) iPod. But I just got the new, 2nd Gen iPod-Touch Sept 2008 which (along with the new iPhone 3G (2008) and 4th Gen Nano) will not work on old chargers, incl some car chargers and sound systems like the Bose dock.I do not want to risk using the iGo with my new iPod Touch. Kills iPod Video 60 GB : (

Pros:
Great with the iPod Nano
Cons:
Killed my iPod Video60 GB
Best Uses:
Travel
Primary use:
Personal
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I charged my iPod video for about 20 minutes and found it burning hot. Before charging it, the battery was over half full. After charging it, the battery registered in the red zone. It was difficult to turn off (kept turning back on) and once I did turn it off, it wouldn't turn back on. Now I have a dead iPod that must be serviced. Although it killed my iPod Video, it has worked perfectly dozens of times on the iPod Nano.

Don't Use with iPod Video

My iPod Video 60 GB was half charged when using this. After it was was hooked up for about 20 minutes, the iPod was burning hot and the battery registered in the red. It will no longer turn on or charge and now needs to be serviced. DON'T USE ON THE IPOD VIDEO! We have used this successfully with the iPod Nano dozens of times, however.

Connected this device with the wallcharger and the result was an iPod that no longer worked. According to Radio Shack, my iPod charging circuit is damaged. Of course, since the wall charger system works fine and isn't damaged itself, Radio Shack is not going to cover the damage to my $350 iPod. The iPod worked fine before connecting it to the charger and stopped working after being connected, so it's quite a coincidence that the charging circuit failed right when I purchased the charger.

I've used this for over a year with my juice70. It works perfectly, and is great for travel. Works with the new IPhone as well. Be sure to have your itip and adapter connected to the device to be charged BEFORE plugging into the power source.

When I plugged my iPod in to charge it started the hard drive spinning and then completely drained rather than charged my iPod. The system works great on my phones, but not for my iPod.
