I bought replacement cordless phone batteries from Radio Shack....thier "store brand". They last exactly 1 year and fail. They are NiCad which is cheaper and does not last as long as NmH style batteries. Needless they don't carry the better version in the store.

I have purchased these 3.6v 850mAH batteries at my local Radio Shack twice in the past 10 months.
I did not realize that the mAH is capasity or charge time. The higher the mAH the longer the charge/talk time. No one at Radio Shack bothered to explain this to me. These batteries have a charge time of less than one hour. If they are used for businees or personal use they are NOT what any individual will need.

Teenagers/business/adults carry on lengthy conversations lasting much more than one hour these days.

I have found on line 3.6v 2000 mAH phone batteries for half what Radio SHack charged me.
From now on I'll study via the net before I make another purchase and I will not buy from Radio Shack.

And to think I thought it was my phones! And the folks at Radio Shack had me believing I needed to upgrade my phones with them to boot!

I thought it was also a bad batch of batteries. Not the case this is my third set and last only 6 months or less. I am going to try the Panasonic brand and see if that one is any better.

Wish I'd read all these reviews before I bought a new phone yesterday. I thought the Panasonic phone had malfunctioned - frying the battery and reducing use time. Now I know it was the battery I bought less than 6 months ago. Useless - DO NOT BUY!

By Sam J from Pittsfield, MA on 9/13/2006

Learned the hard way that Ni-Cd batteries shouldn't be left on the charger when it doesn't need it. They can be damaged and lose charge rapidly if you do. To revive it I left it out of the phone for several weeks until it was dead then charged it overnight. Now I only charge it when needed and it works great.

This battery will not hold a charge. It goes from full charge to empty in about an hour. Spend the extra couple of bucks and buy Energizer or a name brand.

By DWIGHT J from FORT WAYNE, IN on 7/13/2006

I purchased the 3.6V/850mAh Ni-Cd battery about 6 months ago. It powered the phone for about 2 weeks at full power. After the 2 wks the phone would die after about 90 min of use. 90 days later the phone will come off the charger work for 5 min and flash ?recharge battery?. The second phone of the pair still has its? original battery. If I had checked the reviews I would have been aware of this batteries lack of performance. I would not recommend this battery

By Kathryn O from Fairfield Ohio on 6/25/2006

I purchased the 3.6V/850mAh Ni-Cd battery about 12 months ago. It held a charge for several weeks, but then started to die after using the phone for a couple hours. My former Panasonic battery lasted the entire day without needing to be charged. It didn't die for over a year. I also bought one for another phone which is dying after only 6 months.I would not recommend this battery.
