General Comments: First replacement battery for this phone. The OEM battery pack is physically larger (3 X 5/4 AAA's) and rated at a higher capacity (3.6V @ 800mAh), than this replacement (3 X AAA's, and 3.6V @ 750mAh). We live in the country, with several detached buildings from the house (garage, sheds, barn, etc.), and have no neighbors withing 3500+ ft, line of sight. The handset (Uniden Mod. TRU8865-2), provides clear reception up to 1200ft from the base unit (w/OEM battery's), and is used throughout all the buildings and property. We have 3 handsets, and a base unit.

MY Concerns: 1) longevity of battery life, and 2) ability to deliver power to phone, per my daily usage requirements.

I have marked the install date (on the battery), and will monitor it's life and power over the next several weeks/months, and follow typical NiMH battery usage/charge guidelines. I reserve final judgment on this battery (vs. to 2+ years on the OEM BT-446), until such life tests have been performed. If the battery pack performs as expected, then I will replace the other handset's battery packs, as necessary with the same one.

Most people dont understand the battery charging process. You cant leave your phone on charge at all times. Taking it off when you talk and putting it back on after your finished isnt cutting it. You must leave your phone off until its time to charge it. Normaly take it off during the day and charge it at night. try these tips before giving these batteries a bad grade. I have had my battery for over 2 years by doing this and its still going!!!

I bought this battery for both my Uniden phones [...] and charged it for almost 2 days to be safe. In less that 60 days the phones began dying after only 90 minutes of talk time despite my being assure it would last 6-7 hours. I have a backup cordless unit in case of a dying handset, but I had used the same Radio Shack battery in it also. It too died only after 90 minutes or less. This battery is terrible and I'm going to get my money back.

I got about 9 months out of the batteries, and now they won't hold much charge. We almost always let them run out before charging, so I don't know if they could have lasted longer.
