Carry in car all the time in case you forget your AC adapter while travelling. Nice but a bit pricey!
For some odd reason the ones of [@] that say 12v will not power my sirius radio, but this one will.

Charges my phone great in the house. Charges anything that doesn't take lots of power. Its rated at 1000mA or 1 Amp. Be intelligent, check power consumption on devices before plugging them in.
I question the 1000ma rating of this power supply. The older model of this same unit, rated the same, does the work I want it to. The cost is excessive,[...]
Runs my XM Reciver no problem at all. Getting a full quality connection to their sats as well. Im sure this thing puts out a good supply. A+
Radio Shacks online description of this item doesnt even include an amperage rating. It's too expensive for what it is. On the bright-side, it's small and light, and it'll charge a low-power device like a phone, but I wish Radio Shack hadn't gotten rid of their old 12v "wall wart" which was an actual transformer instead of a switcher, and actually had some capacity to pump some amps.. I've had this thing die when trying to even charge a model airplane battery, so it can't provide much power. I'd say it's fine if you've got money to burn and all you want to do is charge a phone on vacation, because it is very light and compact, but this device demonstrates that Radio shack has gone from a hobbiest-friendly electronics store to a cellular phone store.

bought this to charge my garmin c340 when i was out on vacation and the cigarette lighter didn't work on the rental. i only use it for that sole purpose and nothing else. it does teh job fine, but it's SO EXPENSIVE. returned it when i got home from vacation. looking for a much cheaper one elsewhere. NOT RECOMMENDED

Slick product, but I bought the same thing elsewhere for $3 (about what it's worth).
It's meant for a cell phone, not a cooler! Saves the trouble of carrying 2 chargers, works great!

Over price! Underpower, and couldnt even run my cooler. Taking it back today.

It's expensive, underpowered, but just about charges my cell. The power input/output info on the U/L label is unclear. Old transformer #22-501 (no longer stocked) was much better.

I have tried this AC-to-DC Portable Power Supply on several different items, and it hasn't worked once. I am taking it back to store today. Don't waist your money, not worth $30 or $5 for that matter.

Well it does what it does but it is underpowered and overpriced.

Worked fine for charging my phone, but at a puny 1 amp it couldn't power any of the 12v toys from my car, like the cooler, air mattress inflator, etc., so I'll be taking it back. I'm embarassed really that I even paid that much for a simple transformer in the first place.
