This battery runs the clock in older Macintosh Desktop computers. When it runs down, the computer won't start. REplace it with a new Tadiran battery and you've got another 5-6 years of trouble free computing. Some Macs need those long leads, some don't. Just cut the wires with pliers if you don't need them.
