I tried to use this product with a Radio Shack HTX-200. The output increases when using while transmitting and the unit buzzes
I tried to use this product with Yaesu VX-2R and the increase in output damaged the transmitter requiring it to be returned for service.
This product is best suited for use with devices that do not transmit RF power. Both of the transceivers tested produced about 2 Watts of RF output @ 146MHz.
This is a great product. I will go over some important features not listed in the summary. First it can produce power at 4.5, 6, 9, 12 volts (selectable) at nearly 3 amps. This is important to charge my supercap battery (4.6v @ 1/2 amphour) in a few minutes. It runs on 12v power from solar panel or battery. If the tip you need is not included then just buy the one you need (compatible with other adaptaplugs). I have 2 of these so I can charge and power a device at the same time.
Great high-output multi-voltage Adaptaplug cigarette socket adapter. Perfect for high-amperage applications. I'm currently using mine to charge my DeLorme Blue Logger GPS via dynamo and solar devices. It works great! I would *REALLY* like to see something like this become available in a retractable version.
Male plug is smooth and reliable for high-cycle use. Adapters stay snug. Angle plug-in adapters unsuitable (angle housing is too short) for many devices. Had to make adapters from those in stock (straight body) designed for wire termination.
