This mp3 player worked pretty good, although slow and difficult to setup, for a few months and then while trying to add some tunes, my PC AND my laptop wouldn't recognize it, so something quirky had happened to it. From reading the other reviews, I'd say that it's a hit or miss situation with these units.

As soon as the limited 1 year warranty ran out it started acting up, it would freeze up or the batery would be full and the next hour it would run out. Then the screen quit working. I was highly dissatisfied.

I've had this Sansa 2gb mp3 player for more than a year. It was working fine when I first got it but then the downloading of the music slowed down. So it takes the actual time of the song length to put it in my Sansa. And the blue scroll gets out of control even when I move it once. Which is why I put it on 'Hold' most of the time. It's okay for awhile but you can't always rely on Radioshack. I might even buy an Ipod soon.
I bought this one the other day for traveling and work out purposes and absolutely love it! It is so easy to set up and MUCH cheaper than the ipod-all around.
My sister and brother in law bought this several years ago and recommended it when I went to buy my kids their ipods. I wish I would have listened to them!
I was already a subscriber to Rhapsody, so all I had to do was upgrade my membership, was no biggie at all!
I love the convenience of being able to sync it with my Rhapsody, whereas with my kids ipods, we have to have itunes and purchase each individual song.
Though, I did take the other people's advice and purchased a new pair of earbuds, as the ones it comes with aren't very good.
Also, the controls were a little confusing getting used to, but that is because I am used to the ipod.
I would DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone!
This product was great for the first 3 months then it froze on me, i had a friend go in erase all my music and reload it. It worked again for a while and then it stopped allowing me to download music onto my device when there was clearly plenty of storage space left, i'm very frustrated with this mp3 player and plan on looking for something better.
Since I have had it, I have had 0 problems and it is very easy to setup, Wish it had more clear instructions though. From buying it to getting 243 songs on it only took me, 30 minutes. The screen does scratch rather easy is only thing I hate. The headphones that come with it suck, Buy some good quality ones. As for comments on freezing up, Never had it once freeze on me.
I travel a lot so it is great when I'm in the car,and just so bored I almost fall asleep on the road. One bad thing about it is it gets scratched so easily, and sometimes it gets really annoying.
this product works great at first but then the screen turns white and you cant hear music.
It has great ear buds.
its a good mp3 player never freezes up on me. you have to get other earphones. other than that I think its beter than ipod.
WEll to all the people that complain about freezing its simply a glitch, all you have to do is press the power button 30 seconds to restart it and it will be back to normal, if people were smart enough to read the manual before returning there would be no problems. It has great sound, good headphones, great image pixel quality.Great player for people that have owned MP3's and have some experince setting them up, not any of those ipods, plain and simple this is not for STUPID people.

It was very confusing setting up this product first but one thing thats good was the sound and some features like the videos but they froze up too.It froze up way too many times and then i finally gave up on it
The only time I've expericened the device freezing on me is when a "bad track" was played. When that occurred, I would remove the battery and put it back in and that was a while ago. I have lots of music on it and I'm still adding to it. I'd have to say that the Sansa e250 is pretty user-friendly for the most part. I like this product and I would recommend it to a friend.
Dear Sansa e250 users,
I know this isn't a sansa forum but, I discovered that it wouldn't play any videos I had unless I changed the format. To get it to play videos, drag and drop your video on window's movie maker. then save it to your computer. after that drag the movie from your video folder and put it into the sansa media converter. It should work fine after that.
I bought this player on september 2, and it worked great for about 4 months. During that time it froze up matbe three or four times but to "un-freeze" it you just have to hold the menu button for about 45 seconds and it restarts. The big problem I had with it was every few weeks it kept saying on the screen that that " Syncronise to continue your music subscription", so I did the obvious and synced it with windows media player. I'd let it just stay there plugged in for about an hour and then all my wma(protected) music files would work. Then on Jan 5 about I had the problem again where it told me to synchronize to continue the music subscription so I did and let it sync there for awhile. an hour latter I tried to play my music but nothing happened. It just said on the player to sync again so did and nothing would work.
Up to this day, about a week after I had this problem, I continue to sync with the player but whenever I try to put music on it the computer says, "error, unable to retrieve the devices certificate". I can still play mp3 unprotected files but no protected wma files, leading to the conclusion that the player doesn't work, and can't play wma files. I can still transfer photos and videos though.
Pro's- good music quality, was hopeing for better earphones, and the fm tuner was useful, good price.
I will be returning this mps player soon and will hopefully get my money back.
I can't even get half of my music. doesn't allow my videos to play! I'm really mad about it.
i dont know why people keep saying it was difficult to set up. Personally i thought it was really easy. Like everyone says the only problem with it is it freezes too much, either because youre skipping songs too fast or just freezes on its own and u literally have to wait for the battery to die in order to use it again. REALLY ANNOYING!! But other than that it has great sound and a really clear picture, esp for viedeos. The problems only started maybe 4 or 5 months down the road. If you know you are not a careful preson get a DURABLE case for it!! Thats probably a big part of the reaon why it freezes on people. But anyway, despite the occasional freezing i still love it mostly it was a good price for such a great product!!
I use it everyday since I got it. Never had to freez up on me, yet. I like the fact that it also has the FM radio station & I can listen to all of my favs without popping CDs in & out of the player. The only thing I don't like is that it only holds 500 songs & it comes with 20 already. Thanks Sandisk but I like to choose my on songs.
I bought this mp3 player for my dad for christmas. I was going to be nice and set it all up for him, well that din't work to well. I figured I was just set in my old ways with my totally awesome ipod. So I gave it to him, and well the thing is a piece of *#@*! [...] Honestly this thing may have a good price tag on it, but don't let that fool you. It really is just a cheaply made mp3 player, that will not work for anything.
Never froze on me but I've had a couple mp3 players and they all FROZE on me. It's not just the brand of something....... stuff happens that's why you get warranty on everything!!! I've NEVER read a review from an Mp3 player that doesn't freeze... so I'm not shocked. This is a great mp3 player and they are ALWAYS changing and getting better so enjoy it while you can. I bought this for my dad and boyfriend for Christmas and I got free Micro SD cards so we have 4gb of storage
This is a nice player. Vista has trouble syncing to it in MTP. Good video quality. Nice sound. Once I got vista to recognize the player, syncing was a breeze. Would not recomend to Vista users.
if i would have read all of this first i wouldnt have bought mine . Well i did and now im sending it back luckly i bought the warenty for it yes it Froze up sounds like it does it alot well if and when i get my refund back i wont buy it again
i only bought it for 5days, and it freezed and it doesn't work, so i have to return it
before i got this product i read rewiews too so i can say i liked what i saw this player was the best thing ever for a long time friends with ipod were jealous but after 4 months it broke down and went into a coma.
it didnt wake up so i returned it
Let me start by saying that this player has NEVER frozen up on me. Having said that, the instructions aren't real clear on how to add songs to it; they use the term "drag and drop," but I HIGHLY recommend downloading RealPlayer, making yourself a Sansa folder with the songs you want, then importing them into RealPlayer. From there, just go to Burn/Transfer, select the Sansa and sync it up. It takes a little time, but I had a lot of bad files when I tried to drag and drop. Having said that, the sound quality is good, controls are easy to understand, and if you have the ability to convert your files to WMA format (64K) you can get a LOT of music on this player. I use it every single day, play the heck out of it, and it works GREAT, especially for the price tag. No problems here.
this mp3 player was confusing but i still don't know how to put songs on it but overall its great
i just love it better than a ipod

After having this mp3 player for about a year and a half, the battery needs to be replaced. A new battery costs about $20 plus shipping and handling but is VERY difficult to find a store that carries it (actual store or online) and the battery is often out of stock. From the beginning, I have felt that this mp3 player is cheap. It has frozen on me multiple times and now that the battery is very low, it has started deleting my songs! The radio feature is nice because recorded music is always new and up to date. This is my favorite thing about this product. However, the mp3 player is not worth the money. A new version, such as the Sandisk Sansa Connect, seems to have many needed improvements, is made a lot less cheaply, and is only about $40-$50 more expensive.

I had to replace this product at least twice in the first 30 days, and finally had to ship it back and wait two weeks to get another one because it froze again.

i do not like this product, the first one i bought only lasted for 2 days until it froze, the second one however, had a headphone jack problem, i dont recommend this product at all, Sandisk should discontinue it and make better ones that DONT FREEZE AND HAVE HEADPHONE JACK ISSUES!!

This product is amazing. I would buy it over an over again. It is easy to use and transfer music. Even though th screen is smaller than the other media players it is still easy to watch videos. The videos picure and music come out chrystal clear. I would reccomend this to anyone.

Well I Had the worst experience with this product!
It didin't even last me a day, it lasted me about 17 hours. The story is that I put the songs in then the next morning I woke up and walked with it to school then I turned it off. Then when I got out of school to walk back home I was gonna listen to my music and it sed empty!what the hell! I got pist off. So then I connect it to the computer and all the songs where there so then I put one song in I turned on went to the music but then I asidently cliked on some other song that apierd there and the thing got ridiciolus it started to turn off and turn on fading out and in, I took off the battery then on it still did the same thing!I went back and got A REFOUND!

I am thrilled with the ease of using this MP3 player. I purchased a different brand before and it was thin plastic, very flimsy and the foreign language to english translation instruction book left a lot to be desired. Bought this one, took it home, hooked it up and within minutes I was on my way. Absolutely love it!
WELL I BOUGHT THIS TWO DAYS BEFORE SCHOOL STARTED AND AS SOON AS I GOT IT IT WAS EASY TO USE WITH THE INSTRUCTION THAT CAME WITH IT. AND WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT WAS THAT IS HAS A LOT OF FUNCTIONS TO USE. THATS IS WHY IT IS GREAT EXCEPT THAT THE SCREEN SCRATCHES EASILY.BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT IS A GREAT BUY.

[...]this one is worth the money. Its better then a ipod, it has more features like video,fm,etc, also has a expansion slot for up too 2 GB of music. Thats 4gb(Nano price-$199) Also great for holding data. If the best of your music I would say buy some better headphones.

Awesome player. Had mine for about a week now. It did freeze up once, but that's only because I tried to do too many functions at once. Just press/hold down the Menu button for about 15-20seconds and it will reboot. I'm not a fan of earbud headphones, which come with it, but plug in a pair of Sony digital monitor headphones (any model) and a whole new world opens up. Mainly using this for music and radio at work. On a fully charged battery, I played it non-stop for 10hrs switching from radio to songs, and still had half a battery charge to go. I already had a Rhapsody membership and upgraded to the To Go membership to get the full benefit of this player. Already loaded in about 225 songs in the MP3 format. (WMA format is also available). Radio tuner is crisp and clear. Eventually I might take advantage of the video functions, but keep in mind all this takes up memory. At least this player comes with a slot for adding in more memory easily. Also, you can find accessories for this player at [...], or other reputable places on the web. Recommend SanDisk's website for any other isssues. Believe me, this player is DEFINATELY worth the investment !!! Go ahead and get it if you're still on the fence about it
This MP3 is pretty handy!! You can watch videos, put picutes up, listen to music, listen to Radio, and record stuff! Unfortunately it's alitle heavier than other MP3 players and harder to find cases for. Also the ear phones are alittle too big tha hurts your ear. Also the scrolling thing alittle hard to use because it's too smooth that it's hard to get a grip. But other than those it's a pretty handy player!

I have the rhapsody version and I love this mp3. It is my first music player and i think it was a better choice than the infamous "ipod". I also got WAY more features; radio, pictures, video, free rhapsody service for 2 months. I couldnt ask for more and for such a low price. It does get stuck because a sudden change from music to a video but a reset will do it. It just takes patience but for this price i am willing to do almost anything. Unlike the ipod which you will have to hear the same song over and over and over (i think you get my point)or waste money on some tuner, i can choose to listen to the radio.

An excellent player, built like a rock. Also the RockBox team has developed alternative firmware for this player so if you're a geek and love your ogg audio collection (or any other open format for that matter) this player+RockBox are an awesome team.

i was sceptical about this mp3 player. i didn't want to spend a hundred dollars on something i didn't think would work...the picture quality isn't that great. the ipod video is better when it comes to that. but still... sounds good..looks good.. i like the fact i can put my pictures off the computer and onto the mp3 and music videos. its so cute! i liiiiiiike it!

Once I got the update online, the Sansa performed superbly(before it would freeze ocassionally,..to remedy ...remove cover and reset by removing the battery and then putting it back in).Takes a charge better if you use the msc mode in the USB under settings. When charging off computer, before removing, click on "safely remove hardware" icon when in msc usb mode.
I dropped the player into the toilet the other day and I quickly removed it ,but come on it fell in!Amazingly,...after removing the cover and battery, blotting everything dry ,and then blowing and sucking thru the portals to remove any more"water" ,I let it sit for 2-3 hrs...and "voila!" It worked and continues to work.Bought some Lansing Altec Ext Speakers w/ sub woofer for 24.88 and it is the perfect dorm stereo.I love my Player!!
EASY to Charge!!

This thing is perfect for those who wish to be something other than pod (ipod)sheep. The FM reciever gives you a good signal. The voice recorder also doubles as a radio recorder and thats great for anyone who use to record new songs off the radio(aka the cassette tape era). It even has a micro sd card slot greatly enhancing the storage capabilities. Once you give this player a shot you'll do what I did (give away your membership in the ipod flock and instantly become a lil monsta.
I really love this mp3 player.. I use Rhapsody and it plays subscription music... i fill it up and refill it up with new music all the time. It also has picture and video playback; something the nano doesnt do. THERE IS other mp3 players other than nanos... and this one is better. I like the FM radio (also missing from nano) and the voice recorder. I'm getting one for my girlfriend since she keeps taking mine.
This player's screen went blank after using it only a few hours and turning it off and back on. The blue scroll wheel lights up, but nothing else. It turns out many other people have had the same problem out there on the web. None of the "solutions" posted out there worked for me. I'm returning mine tomorrow.
I like how you it how you can have videos and pictures on it.I also like how there is a radio on it.
well after reading all the reviews i set forth and bought it. i have to say its look plus its features is one of a kind. the earphones tend to hurt after a while though. The video quality is simply awesome. I even have some simpsons episodes in it. the only thing is that for some reason after every track i get a message on the screen displaying bad track and its happening more often. which is really annoying. Other than that i guess its ok if it works fine without a flaw.
Overall good product.Much better than the ipod nano.
Ive had mine since christmas and it works fine besides the freezing of the screen which doesnt happen much the only main issues I have is that I can not put videos on it...no matter what file type I use
sandisk support is great. they can fix any problem and give help anytime. great sound and earphones.
Ive had mine for 2 weeks and now the thing is frozen. the sansa welcome screen keeps flashing on and off and that is all it is doing!
this thing is horrible i got it like 3 weeks ago and it freezes up
this mp3 player is good but it scared me when it blacked out on me but if it does do that all you need to do is unscrew the back and take off the battery and put it back on
besty mp3 player ever made. wayyyyy better than ipod nano. it has vdeo player and fm which nano doesn't have. u have pay extra. u can record fm.
Well just got this MP3 player yesterday after returning the new ZUNE, oh dont get me wrong there was nothing wrong with the Zune, it was just a bit much for what I wanted..so far I like this sansa mp3, the only thing that I do not like about it is that you can not use it while it is charging through the USB, or if you can I have not figured it our yet..other than that I works great.. I wanted something that I could hook up to an FM transmitter and listen to it through my car radio but I got more, I can put photos and video on this thing..Even though I have never owned an IPOD, I think this things beats it hands down, it is cheaper and it has video capability.....
this is an awesome player LOVE the videos, only problems i see is that i have one dead pixel on mine after a week and the screen scratched even though i kept it in the PROVIDED case
Extremely easy to use, a lot more functions than a nano.
The sansa E250 is one of the best mp3's out there. For this price it's amazing and in my opinion it's better than the I-pod nano. I had that freezing problem once in two month's but if they would of called the 1-800 number on there owners maual like I did they could have easily fixed it. All you have to do is hold the power button for 45 seconds and everything would have been fine.
After 2 1/2 months...the screen has froze and none of the buttons work. It has happened in the past and easily fixed by plugging into USB port. Not working now.
Garbage. Garbage. Garbage. I bought Sansa E200 series believing I was investing in the next level of Mp3 players because of the microSD memory card (the Radioshack salesman really pushed this idea). ?Wow,? I thought. IPod isn?t missing anything by not having a microSD because they come with more GB than you could ever use. I bought my E250 in mid-August 2006, now October the player is broke. It has not been dropped or used irregularly. The back casing is now tarnished because the player generates heat when played for hours at a time. I searched up and down looking for hardware for the system. In particular, I wanted a car FM tuner and adapter but no such hardware exists. They just recently developed cases for series which come in two colors.
I've been using my sansa portable mp3 player for 2 months and just now have a problem with it but overall I love the gadget and it's very easy ti handle.
I have owned my Sansa e250 for about 3 months, and have not had any problems whatsoever regarding the player. The sound quality is good, although you do here a small pop when you change songs. The player is durable, but the screen scratches easily. The menus are very straight forward and easy to use, and I would definitely reccomend it to anyone, of any age or electronic experience. If you want an all around well built player that will provide you with excellent sound, picture, and video, this is the one for you.
I LOVE IT EASY TO ADD SONGS AND HAS THE SAME FEATURES OF AN IPOD BUT MORE USER FRIENDLY IT IS A GREAT PRODUCT
I just bought this today and this is beyond all my expectations. Makes Ipod look like junk. Sound quality is awesome, video is amazing, and just the best MP3 player on the market today. Highly reccommend!!!
It is really great as everyone says it is. But it may freeze. there STILL IS a way to unfreeze it! my froze once, what u have to do is hold the power button for 15 seconds, that will override the system, and it will work fine. The reason why it freezes is when you are listening to music, and try to watch a video at the same time; the system just goes into a stupid blank screen.
awesome!!!!!!
i thought that i got a lot more for the money i spent that is until it stopped working on me a week after i bought it. come t find out my friend had the same problem with hers. they just seemed to freeze up and none of the buttons will work so you cant even use the power to turn it off.
Great first mp3 for daughter. Price was great also - Very satisfied!!!
