I bought this radio as a start to shortwave radio listening. It's a great price for what you get. I get very good reception and would recommend this radio to any one thinking of getting a starter radio.

The G6 has most of the features of the much larger and pricier G5. So it is very convenient to use and not overly complex. Its very small size means you can take it anywhere. However, its performance is not so good as some other receivers in this price class. My location results in local AM & FM stations interfering on many frequencies. The aircraft band is especially affected. Overall: very portable, fun to use with ok performance.

I need a portable general coverage receiver that is small,selective,sensitive,rugged,and stable.
This device fits all those needs.The band coverage is perfect.The lack of synchronous receive is not a serious detraction.The SSB being incorrectly aligned is a major problem.The BFO offset causes incorrect frequency readout thereby making accurate tuning difficult.If it is corrected,this radio is a winner.

the one thing i didn't like about the radio is when you go too ssb too theres no fine tune on it and it was hard too tune the hams in so i am taking it back and get my money back.

Small, solid, great tuning, no drift, recharges batteries automatically, good sound for its size. Great for the boat or at the airport.
