I would just like to mention that a couple of the reviewers who have posted reviews on this scanner are misinformed about the BC350C. First of all, this scanner WILL work after 2009 unless the public safety agencies in your area have switched to a digital radio system. The digital broadcasting mandate that goes into effect in February 2009 is mandatory ONLY for TV broadcasting, not AM/FM radio broadcasts or public safety radio systems. Believe me, there will still be plenty to hear on this scanner for years to come. Many public safety agencies do not have the funds to upgrade to a digital or even a trunked radio system. Also, the reason the reviewer in Minneapolis couldn't hear anything clearly on the BC350 is because Minneapolis and most of the public safety agencies in Hennepin County have been using a digital trunked radio system for a couple of years now. Having said that, anyone considering the purchase of a BC350C should be aware that the radio will not follow trunked radio systems, and it won't receive digital radio systems like the one in use in Minneapolis. However, this scanner won't become obsolete next year, and if you live in a smaller town or rural area that still uses a conventional analog radio system, there's plenty to hear with this radio. My BC350C has no trouble picking up the Salt Lake City PD and County Sheriff 40-45 miles to the south with just the telescoping antenna that came with the scanner.

Used it around town and NONE of the Police freguencies were clear. Infact, it doesn't catch anything at all in Police scanning mode. Weather and emergency channels are great. Ok enough for the price.

Apparently not digital

According to Uniden Product Support, this radio will not work after the conversion to all digital transmissions scheduled for 2009. I assume this means that this is an analog radio but I am not sure about this.
