My sons and I installed the batteries as soon as we left the store, and we listened to police and fire on the way home. Piece of cake! I've had it on for 7 hours continuous now and no battery indicator so far. The audio is very clear and I can receive mobile units at least 12 miles away with no static. I'm very happy with this purchase.

This is what I expected. Clear signal, nice size and weight. Use it to listen to police, fire, aircraft, and railroad. Works well.

this is a great cheap handheld scanner. it does just what i need it to do and thats listen to the fire dept. i would recoment this to anyone.

Great item, scans very quickly, and it's relatively easy to lock out static. Only downside is it drains batteries extremely fast. Either get a set of rechargeables, or the adapter and rechargeables for this.
