No, I would not recommend this to a friend
The answering machine with a telephone gives very good service. I was disappointed because Uniden had always been the very best telephone I had bought. With my cordless now(5.8 ghz) I can not get a signal if I step out from my house. With my old cordless Uniden (900 ghz) I could go several feet (approx 500) and still get a strong signal. I would not recommend this system to anyone.
