This phone looks good (cosmetically) but it was made with defective parts (especally the base the most important part)and if you want a phone that functions for a more then a year (even a half year would be an improvement)I would not recommend it. Save your money and buy another brand.Other wise you will needing the extended warrenty because you will be bring this phone back again and again and again...etc.

I am a Systems Engineer and support locations from coast to coast everyday, meaning I spend at least 4 hrs. a day on the phone. The speaker phone on the "base unit" as well as both hand sets is very nice.

I have asked people that I've been in contact with "how the phone sounds" and they can barely tell that I am using speaker phone.

I highly recommend this product for anyone that spends a lot of time on the phone (as I do), especially if they will be using the speaker phone feature.

The base quit working after 2 months. I call Radio Shake and Sara was rude and unhelpful. I will not buy from them again.

RadioShack 5.8 Cordless not bad for buck

My only complaint, which I do not know if is one or not, is the range. I just went from a 2.4 GHz to a 5.8 GHz and thought I would get more range. The phone is a lot more clearer then my 2.4 GHz from GE but the range seems to be the same - which is by the way not very far from outside the house. It's good for about 30 feet from the house then it starts to break up like the other one. I can't make it to the end of my back yard which is approx. 100 feet, (can't make it to the garage either 100 feet. Same as in front of property about 100 feet. I have to switch to my cell. Nonetheless, the other phone features are awesome. The intercome feature is totally great. The answering machine is great. Phone is easy to use. Other features which I rarely use but nice to have is the speaker - very nice, hold/mute and monitor features. Also, adding additional phones is very nice option to have. So far not bad at all. I've had the phone for about a week and half already.
