Worse Phone I Have Ever Owned

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I purchased this phone a week ago, and it has to be the worse phone I have ever owned. I was concerned about it's quality when I saw the price, but the salesman assured me that it was a good phone. There were no other cordless phones in this category from which to choose at my local Radio Shack. In addition to the above, people I am talking to tell me that my voice cuts in and out and it is hard to understand me - and that is when I am not very far from the base unit. There is not one good thing I can say about this phone.

Sounds like someone is speaking from under the water. If you could make a phone in your house, it would be better. Unbelievable horrible! I vouch never to buy anything from radioshack and have succeeded in convincing about 25 of my friends.

I bought this when a storm fried my GE. I live in a one bedroom apt and it works just fine. I don't understand what all the griping is about. It is only [$], what do you expect. If you live in a big house or walk around outside alot while flapping yur gums maybe you should spend a bit more and buy a Uniden. Could have used a speakerphone for those long calls on hold.

A little static, but the biggest problem I have is the phone, fully charged and with no warning, cuts telephone calls off. It could be 5 minutes or 25 minutes into a conversation, but after owning the phone 8 months, it now cuts off almost every call unless it's very short.

Called the store and they are mailing me a new battery this week. Hopefully this will fix the problem.

I like the size of the phone because I can carry it between my cheek and shoulder.

the same goes here

How long have you owned it:

Pros:
Easy To Set Up
Cons:
Lacks Features, Limited Range, too large and bulky, Uncomfortable Handset, Weak Signal
Best Uses:
Everyday Use
Primary use:

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This bulky phone has less range than the uniden 2.4 ghz phone, and I had wish it included a speakerphone on it. Also, not enough to store phone numbers in memory list. But what's more important is that when i'm talking on the phone, people cannnot hear me. It's like the volume is too low and I have to really speak close to the phone. It sucks!

This was a very disappointing purchase. The static is horrible -- get more than 15' from the base and it makes a horrible noise. The incoming sound quality is awful, as well. Makes me really begin to question the Radio Shack brand, because I have bought other Radio Shack items recently with similar disappointment. At one time, anything with the Radio Shack name on it could pretty much be trusted to perform well. Not any more, especially demonstrated by this particular cordless phone. DON'T BUY IT!

I purchased this item to replace a very old (10 years) unit. It is used in my Family-room. The old unit covered almost the entire house without any problems. This new one fades out about 30 feet from the base, or when going into another room. I am not satisfied, and wish I had returned it within the guarantee period. I have had other "Radio-Shack" brand cordless phones both at home and at work, and they worked fine.

I bought this phone for my elderly mom. It was easy for her to use, able to increase the volume loud enough for her to hear. However, in the basement of
a small house, the caller can't hear you - you get
cut off and sound like you are " underwater". Purpose of a cordless phone is to be able to move around with it. I returned the phone.
