Not Durable, Poor Sound Quality

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I purchased this phone for secondary use in my bedroom. Since I don't like the telephone "shocking" me awake, I was attracted by the "ringer-off" feature. This phone has terrible shielding. I had difficulty talking on it because of constant static and interference. Shortly after my purchase, the dialing buttons failed altogether. I assumed that the fault of this problem was the internal wall wiring, but when I switched phones, the line was clear. I bought a similar Radio Shack model for the bedroom (low-to-moderate use), and the buttons never did work. I do not recommend this telephone. I will use it as a "dummy" phone for my drama group. That's about as good as it will ever be.

Bought this phone about 3 years ago, and have not had a single problem with all this time. My Bell phone of the same design (and cost more too!) bit the dust after having it the same length of time. I most likely will use this phone to replace the Bell. Simple, back lit keys, good sound, and has lasted.

Absolute Garbage....

I bought this product at the store some months ago. The store did not have a demo model on display so, of course, I reference the box for the phone's features and appearance. I must say that this is the first time I have ever been deceived by a description of a PHONE by it's own box. As I used to be a phone collecting fanatic. The phone is nothing like what is on the box's picture or the website. It would remind you of the cheapo phones they sell at chain drug stores. I was hoping for a "Conair" wannabe(if you remember they used to make nice trim line phones). This does not even come close! [...]The backlight is very dim. The ringer sounds cheap, there is radio interference in the ear peace during all calls, the phone is feather light so if you pick up the receiver you end up pulling the base off the table and it hits the floor(no metal weight in the base), you know what i'm talking about. The buttons are poorly designed and are the type that has the painted numbers rubbed off of them after while of use. The phone sat in my closet boxed for months before I tried it out, 30 day returns - now I'm stuck with it. This is a five dollar phone to say the best. Completely False Advertising on the manufacturer's part. Don't buy it!!!

This telephone picks up a local 1400MHz radio station. The telephone technician came out and said the telephone is picking up the radio station and that it is not in their equipment.

You cannot help but hear the radio as you try to listen to callers.

This phone is made by Presidian, not GE, not AT&T, but some nobody named Presidian.

DON'T BUY!!! You'll be sorry if you do!!!!

Great phone & terrific ...
By Marilyn H from Louisville ky on 4/6/2006
Pros:
Easy to use, Good clarity, Good features, Good Value

Great phone & terrific ring. Only negative is that the reset button has been put right where you rest your chin when taking - which leads to surprise disconnects.
