No, I would not recommend this to a friend
The pros of the Uniden PC68L is it is nice looking, and the transmit audio sounds nice. The cons are the receiver is noisy and it gets co-channeled easily. The Cobra 148GTL is a much better radio and worth the additional cost.

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
i use this product around the town i live in. all my friends have cb's and its a great way to get in touch when you can't use a cell. i use it when i trailer stuff with my friends and we watch out for each other. its also a great way to find each other when your seperated by traffic. also using it while off roading is really good too. and its easy to flip to emergency channels to report or avoid accidents. i've also used it to give directions to lost truckers. besides all this its just really fun to use.
