I use the CB radio for multiple reasons. For example I use it when I am on road trips to get Traffic updates on the freeways. I also use it to communicate with Truckers.

The great thing about it is it is easy to change the channel using the two buttons on the top of the MIC. I have attached the MIC hanger near my steering wheel for EASY access. And so I can change the channel using the up/down buttons on the top of the mic.

The one thing with this though that is NOT a problem is reciving a good signal. I simply got a good quality antenna and put it in a good spot on my car.

I use these radios in my tractors just for the weatherband and weather alert. We don't use the cb part much, but it does work well. They don't last to long in my harsh conditions, but no others would either. I bale a lot of hay, thus I must keep up with the weather forecast constantly. This is the best I have found considering size and price.

Bought the radio almost a year ago and it's been perfect for my car. Got the velcro and 3M adhesive and it hasn't gone anywhere since. Picks up well, mic is easy to use and easy to stash and it's easy to switch from CB to WX modes. Would be nice to have an mic button to switch from CB to WX modes but not necessary. Overall a very good radio though.

I actually bought mine on ebay, but it's really great. I get about 15 miles out of it with my twin magnet mount truckers antennas. and i spilled coffee on it once and nothing happened to it. i recommend an external speaker. mine was a little cracky. maybe it was just mine though. either way, great cb for the price. =]

I've had it for 9 months and love it. The only downside is I wish it had a built in compass. When I'm out in the woods on trails, it would be handy to know which direction I'm headed.

However, the radio works great, the reception is clear, it's easy to use.

The best part..my jeep was broken into recently, and the way I had the CB wired in, and attached to the dash, the thieves tried taking it but were unsuccessful. Props to 3M sticky tape and velcro. :-)

Buy yourself a good antenna and you won't be sorry.

By BOB F from Ellsworth,Kansas on 4/24/2006

Good radio for price. Audio output from speaker is distorted? Poor speaker? You Can use a External speaker to help with audio problem but recommend a better internal speaker. Weather Alert seems to work good. Would be nice to have a switch on mic to switch to WX when alert goes off. Would also be nice to have scanning for the weather band while traveling to save from missing alerts. Good compact radio. Make sure you use a good antenna setup.

By Alex B from Howell MI on 11/8/2005
Pros:
Durable, Good reception

Great radio! 4 watts of power and swings up to 7 watts. This is a great mobile radio because it's small! I would not try to put a bigger radio than this in the car. I put a TRC-447 in and it was way to big for a mobile. I was in Lansing Michigan driving around in a van one day and with this radio I talked to sombody in Windsor Canada with a 5/8 wave magnet mount antenna!
