Comments about Cobra® Cobra® 19DXIV 40-Channel CB Radio:

We own several of these radios and put them in all our equipment. The office can talk easily to loader operators, drivers and haulers. They seem to hold up well in the most severe conditions (quarry dust). I also think they are a good value for the price.

Comments about Cobra® Cobra® 19DXIV 40-Channel CB Radio:

I put this radio in my 04 Ford F-150 Heritage. It works great. I talk to my buddy almost every day.
I run two Barjan antennas. I bought the antennas at seperate time so i bought a splitter and my buddy said i come in clearer than with just one antenna. I also use this in my 91 Peterbilt from time to time. This radio has seen a lot of abuse, seeing i live on dirt roads. and for its price it gets out pretty good. I've left this radio on all day with out starting my truck, my truck has started every time. Get This Radio!

I bought thsi radio ar [...] and saved $15 over the cell phone store (Radio Shack). I'm a ham radio operator and wanted the extra ability to handle emergency traffic over the 11 meter (CB) band if needed. This radio has met the need. Nothing fancy, just simple operation.

Comments about Cobra® Cobra® 19DXIV 40-Channel CB Radio:

I have gotten this item a few weeks ago from a buddie of mine which he got brand new and did not want it. I hooked it up to my truck and when i turned it on all internal components have gotten fried. The reception was very bad, barely any channels worked. Anyone that wishes to buy this item should buy a different type. This cb is practically junk.

It's usually hooked to a dummy load, but I have hooked it up to the base antenna to play around with it. Transmits better than it receives. Tends to pick up electrical noise a bit. Received great audio reports. Nice display.

Comments about Cobra® Cobra® 19DXIV 40-Channel CB Radio:

I use this just for fun with my friends and I get about 2 miles of reception with a 36" antenna. The sound quality is okay for the price, but I don't know where these guys are gettin' their 40-80 mile range from, I'm nowhere near that.

Cheap
By TimberVerified Reviewer from Marmet, WV on 4/15/2008
Pros:
Easy To Use, Lightweight, Rugged
Cons:
Picks up to much noise, Poor modulation, Poor squelch
Best Uses:
Emergencies
Describe Yourself:
Casual/ Recreational
Primary use:
Personal
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Cobra® Cobra® 19DXIV 40-Channel CB Radio:

It has a poor squelch control. When the squelch control opens with a incomming signal it comes in with a popping sound through the speaker that is annoying. The responce I have had from friends is the mic had no modulation to it. I believe it a bit over priced too for what it is.

Comments about Cobra® Cobra® 19DXIV 40-Channel CB Radio:

I love my little cb radio it's light weight and easy to install. the range is very good from my home to the out of town range and that's over 40-miles and even more than that. I'm very amazed at how the signal is and strong coming in with a nearly 39 and a half inch antenna makes it more clear than ever. wouldn't trade it for nothing.

That's a big 10-4!
This is a nice little radio! With my antenna, I get about 80-100 miles on it! I also can receive great also with transmitting! I love using this thing. My whole family has one on there veichle and at there houses. It's nice to have. Don't need a big cell phone plan, this is better free communication. And you don't need any cell service to talk! Lol.
