I bought this camera a few months ago, and it's been faithful all the way. I did some semi-professional headshots with it, nature photos, and family pics. It's handled each situation with ease. Short battery life on digicams is common knowledge. However, depending on the batteries, I can even get a couple days worth of usage out of the camera on plain alkanines! I've got rechargeables just in case, but I never use them...

i like to take pictures but my old hp photosmart was small with not that many megapixels...so for christmas i got this camera and it has worked fine...the batteries even last long when i use the rechargable batteries...great camera you should try it with rechargable batteries because all digital cameras the take AA batteries take a lot of power...even my little hp does

Lithium Batteries

I read the reviews and found people were complaining about the AA batteries not lasting long enough. I tried re-chargable batteries, but did not have much luck with them either. The SOLUTION is LITHIUM batteries. They cost a little more to begin with, but last sooooo much longer. It's worth the price!!

Bought this for my 15 year old son, and he and his 12 year old brother use it all the time. Great photos, and really good videos for the price. They're always videoing backyard skateboarding and even in the cold and moisture, takes great videos.

Simple, easy to use, great camera

Pros:
Bright LCD, Comfortable Controls, Easy Setup, Easy to Keep Clean
Cons:
Slow Shutter Speed
Best Uses:
Fun
Describe Yourself:
Professional
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

For the price this camera is worth it. Its cheap for a 7.2 mp camera. That's because the shutter speed is slower so when you take pictures you had to wait a couple seconds before you can take another picture. Nothing wrong with that unless you want to take snapshots of someone moving.

The quality of the camera has nothing to do with the battery life. Rechargeable batteries are not as good as alkaline batteries because eventually the charge of rechargeable batteries get weak and wont last as long from the first time you purchase them. The best batteries to use are littium because obviously they last much longer. Other than that this is a good camera for the resolution, price, and quality. Just a little slow and the flash is a little weak in the dark

Any Digital Camera That takes double a batteries needs rechargeable batteries. Common sense. ANY digital camera you buy that takes double a's you will need to buy rechargeable batteries with it. digital cameras are very strong and power in the fact they take good pics so there in lies the problem there is nothing wrong with the battery life the people who are complaining of it decided not to or were not told they needed rechargeable batteries.

This camera is a really good camera for a simple and ease of use unit. Read your manual and learn all the bells and whistles. As with all digital products they have a minimum operating voltage so when alkaline batteries die at about 1/3 of their life the camera won't operate. Use NiMH and keep a replacement set or two ready to go. Do some research on discharge patterns; alkaline vs. rechargable before slamming any digital product on operating life. I get 200-300 pics with flash on a full charge of NiMH. About 25 on alkalines. The only issue I have (probably operation error)is exposure in low light with no flash, but overall a great product.

2 hs on Alkaline? They're all like that.
By ChurchPix from Cleveland, Ohio on 9/9/2007

I was ready to buy this unit, but after reading all the bad reviews on the battery lifeme I went and bought something else (Sanyo VPC-s500). After using it, it appears 2 hrs is ALL any of these new cameras get, because that's all I got from this one too. (boy do I miss my old rechargable HP Photosmart). Instead of 'dissing' the battery lifetime, maybe ask how many pics you get per set of batteries - with flash, before you make your decision. The Sanyo gave me 107, half of which were with flash. Hopes that gives you something better to measure the batteries by.

Well made digital camera that takes very good pictures. Ease of use is a positive and battery life is just not good. But, for the money, I would recommend it for the technical soundness alone.

By Kyle G from Paragould, AR on 6/4/2007

I get a battery life of about 2 hours with regular alkalines. Rechargable NiMH steps it up to about 8 hours or so. The pictures are FANTASTIC. I'm VERY happy with this camera so far.
