This is my Second Starmate and today I am looking to maybe get a new one if the warranty is still good. I have had this for 1 year & 7 months The Fist Starmate I Had was only 8 months before have to replace it. It would always get hot and lock up. The Second one I started having problems with the reception about 4 Months ago at work. I always get the "Acquiring Signal" message so I could only listen to it in my car. If you plan on buying this generation of Starmate make sure to buy the extended warranty. I will still keep my subscription and replace the player with the new model if the warranty is still good but I recommend Sirius over XM. I have had both XM & Sirius I like Sirius alot better I hear that a Good replacement for this unit is the Starmate 4.

But if you don't want to replace all the accessories replace the Starmate with the STREAMER GTR by Brix.

We bought two of the radios and LOVED them. I am so disappointed though in product life. They only lasted 14 months before they stopped working with no warranty. What a waste! Great radio with short life-no great bargain here. Love the SIRIUS though. We are hooked so we will pay for new radios. Need to develop radios with longer life.

Mine quit working after 14 months...no warranty coverage at all. It's worthless in a car, as every FM frequency is in use in my area (Sacramento).

Great radio, sirius has a great product. Replay is a great function, BIG PROBLEM WITH OVERHEATING my radio is in a ford ranger and for some reason it will heat up so hot that my truck doesnt need to be heated in the morning the plastic on the back of the reciever is begining to melt and burns when touched. it also freezes when the temp gets too hot! get the next generation all heating problems are fixed.

LOVE this radio, the only negative is that after taking it from the car to the house over time the plug does not make great connection with the power plug & it shorts out. Aside from that, this is a great unit.

Only thing is if your covering a lot of ground, your gonna be changing a lot of radio stations to find a vacant one. LOL. other than that its really good!

as a truck driver this satellite radio is awesome in passing the time on the road. works great all over the place;no switching stations every hour because losing signal on radio stations. july of 2006 my semi truck got hit by lightning while going down highway, everything electronic got fried except my sirius radio. lost the electronics on truck, cb radio, and regular radio. all had to be replaced except satelite radio.

this is good for listening. i use it at home and in the car and it works. the box came with everything it said

I bought this radio about six months ago and have enjoyed every minute of it. One of the clips that holds the radio on the mount snapped off soon after I bought it but the radio still stays on. Display is bright and clear and the unit still works great. Recently bought the boombox and am enjoying that too.

I have had my radio for almost a year now, I never did try to use the remote or the suction mount, but the way that I set it up in the car works great for me. I haven't had a problem with the equipment breaking (it even survived a coffee spill). I love my Sirius.

Very easy to set up in my Chevy pickup. Worried about reviews that say it breaks down within a year. Bought it at radio Shack with a 1 year extended warranty. Works great so far.

About 20 minutes to install, looks like professional job. Looks great, works great. Only thing they don't tell you that I had to figure out myself was that you have to play around with the FM frequency to get the best signal. I found that the higher the frequency (I use 104.7) the better the sound quality. Very happy!!!!!

If your radio breaks you will need to buy a new one. The warrenty company is AWFUL. We waited for a new radio for 5 months. Then bought a new radio from Sirius that was refurbshed and had to return that. Our three radio was stolen 3 days after we received it.

This was the Greatest thing ever until after about one year it started blinking out and that was past the warranty so dont buy this product!!

Purchased receiver from RadioShack. During it's last month of warranty, the screen faded and the unit was extremly hot to touch. The remote control would not work the first day I got it. Radio Shack replaced it. The Window mount broke the first month and the suction base would not hold to the windshield. Contacted Sirus and customer rep. promised to call back never did. Now it is out of warranty. No use subscribing to the service when the equipment is faulty. I don't want to have to purchase new equipment every year.

Worked great for the first 8 months then started blinking out. The radio as a 12 month warranty so called today to a replacement - not a problem as long as you tell them that you contacted product support first.

Seems great at first but after a while it started blinking out and well they won't fix it.im not saying sirius is bad its great.But this just is a bad receiver

Love this, just got it a few days ago.

I got the Starmate last Christmas. I have a cassette tape adapter that I run into the cassette player in my 2004 Toyota Sienna and it works great. This blows away regular broadcast radio.

I have been enjoying siris radio 2 years unfortunately I also have gone through 2 receivers. Equipment not very good

it's okay it's not all da you could find something better but i works ok

I love my starmate. Ease of use and installation impressed me.

This was my first Sirius receiver. I love it! I was able to do a super clean self install- no wires exposed at all! I set it in the center storage of my 04 Accord on the section cup mount. Looks great. If you have an 03 or later Accord I can give suggestions for self install. The FM tuner is plenty strong and I get very rare interference from power lines. The Unit does everything I expected. The remote is very handy. Sirius radio is great!

It is so easy to go from car to home. Just plug in the appropriate wires and you are in business! I recommend the home kit to get the total benefits of your Sirius radio experience.

I am on my 2nd one, radio shack stands by their warranty. they sent me a gift card to purchase another unit after my first one went bad after 3 months. This is by far the best unit out there as far as ease of use and features.. this is new technology so I expected a few bumps in the road.

Good unit,but... docking set is too expensive and not easy to find

good unit despite it gets hot like a stove,I dont think that's normal.

Unit lasted 4 months after purchase and is now defective. No have to go through Sirius and wait 2 - 6 weeks for replacement and must send at my own expense. Buyer beware.

Sirius rocks! I"ll never go back to regular radio again! Ther starmate is awesome! I recommend Sirius to everyone I come in contact with!

this is the best system I,ve ever seen. I can listen in my car and my home and it is so easy to remove and move. I give it 10 out of 10. And the people at the greatbarrington radioshack was so helpful and their knowledge of sirius was great. Thanks RadioShack

Talk about night and day between the old starmate and the new replay. One thing that jumps out at me is the lower number of banks and the higher number presets, not to mention the cool blue screen is way easier on the eyes.i love sirius

This was a snap to set-up and use. Great reception, easy to use. I love it and so do my teenagers!

This is an amazing product. It's sleek, relatively simple to use, and does not have too many features to overwhelm you. This can lead you to think it's overpriced, justifiably. Satellite reception is reliable (except near microwave ovens!) and utilizing FM wavelengths is extremely handy. This equipment is a keeper.

I am trying to get a little better indoor reciever, the home docking kits for this are expensive!(over half the receiver!) Thing is, I don't mind and in the month it's been in my car, sometimes I'll sit out in the car for hours. Forget TV, this is entertainment at it's best!! AC

i love my sirius sat receiver. it is the best puchase i have ever made. in my town it is hard to get a good radio reception and my sirius comes in clear all the time. i use it at work and just drivin around. i am really happy with my puchase but the only problem is is i cant seem to find a battery pack for it so i can take it to classes with me but i am still looking.

All I can say is.... WOW. Satellite radio has been a god-send for me, and now that I have it, I can't imagine life without it. This reciever ROCKS!! Not a bad thing to say about it. Buy it now, you won't regret it!

I love my SIRIUS Starmate Replay Receiver.

By far one of the best sirius receivers out there. I love that its portable but I can guarantee I will be getting another one just so I can have one for in the house and in the car. Totally a MUST HAVE!!!!!

I've had this system for about 2 weeks now and I love it! The best is the MEMO feature where you can store artists or specific songs and they notify you beforehand when they are coming on. Definitely worth the money!

I really like this receiver but I've had to exchange two of them due to defects. The first one had no audio unless I kept the select button depressed. The second one had heat issues. After two weeks the remote would not work if the unit ran for over 20 minutes. I had to hold it in front of the A/C vent to cool it off then it would work again. I'm now on my third and last one.

Fantastic! I couldn't wait a second longer after leaving Radio Shack... Installed it in 5 minutes; set up the payment plan in 7 minutes; Howard Stern is BACK bay-bee! I love the bright-blue-backlight screen and display which you can alter text sizes... good idea that! I tossed out the suction-cup mount, and just velcro-ed it over the car's clock... The unit has a clock read-out on it, so the dashboard clock is ripe territory for the Sirius receiver! THANKS SIRIUS!

Great Unit For the price. Has a 40 Minute memory so you can pause a live radio. Home kit is great and real easy to install. You can easily move from home to car within seconds.

This is great. You don't need the home system. Radioshack has the 12VDC adapter, just plug in where you plust the cord for the lighter, and listen at home. it's the best

A great radio, have one for the car and home, so I didn't have to keep moving it. For those complaining about the bright blue display, you can turn down the brightness in the settings menu. The auto song and artist seek works well, and the rewind and pause feature is nice.

Finally was able to track one down w/ the home kit. Easy installation both in the car and house. Comedy channels are great and can't wait for Howard.

The suction cup doesn't work at all, everything else works great

Love it! Picked up the last one at my local Radio Shack and had it hooked up in my car within 10 minutes. The music channels have all the genres I listen to. It will only get better when Howard comes on the air on Monday. All I need now is to find a store that has the home kit in stock so I don't have to sit in my truck in the garage to listen.

this receiver is nice and easy to take from one car to the outer with only one car kit so far the only thing i don't like about this receiver is that its too bright for my eyes at night

This is a great plug-n-play unit. Easy to use, light weight, & comes with alarm & autoshutdown feature. Only drawback - the bright blue backlit display is hard to read from a distance.

Wish they had a car install kit, cigarette lighter power is the pits. Also, wish they had more accessories (e.g. docking station). This is a good enrty level unit, but upgrade will be required when you're tired of draping wires all over the place. Welcome Howard...

Love my Satelite radio. Great value for the price. Almost like a TIVO only with out the TV, LOL anyway works great except in tunnels.

Love the unit (starmate). love the fact that it's a narrow face plate and is easier to find some place to mount in the car the the units that are twice as tall. HATE the fact that it requires a cigarette lighter socket to power it up. Should come w/a direct/hard wire kit also, that's why I gave it a 4 over all. By the way, I've only had it 24 hrs. and I have a 35 minute commute in the Philly/South Jersey suburbs and so much nicer hearing music then all the endless banter and/or commercials from the local stations. I will be reccommending this system and head unit to many customers who ask about getting satellite radio. What do I do you ask? I'm a service advisor for a large Ford dealer.

I love it! So small you can mount it anywhere. Easy to use right out of the box. I bought Sirius for my girlfriend but I bought her the Clarion Calypso, still a great radio but very bulky and hard to find a place to mount in the car. I recommend this unit to everyone that wants an easy to use unit that wont take much effort or space!

Great radio, great features but bought it 12/16/2005. Now about 30% of the time when it starts no characters apear just back lighting. (But it still works) Tried everything to troubleshoot. I guess I got a lemon. I will seek a replacement. When it works it's great.

Love the new starmate receiver -- we got two for the both of us and the Sirius package for music , sports, and talk radio cannot be beat. Now they need to make the replay unit into a DVR like receiver so that you could record your favorite radio talk show or artist!

The starmate reciever, and Sirius radio is the best purchase I have made in a long time. I mounted the antenna on the dash, and the receiver out of view on the lower dash both using the heavy duty radio shack velcro. The antenna works surprisingly well mounted on the dash near the base of the windshield. I was apprehensive before purchasing, and initially bought to listen to Howard Stern, but the music selections alone make this well worth the money.I often times find myself having trouble deciding which station to listen to because there is so much good music available that you don't normally hear on f.m. radio.

I switced to Sirius with this radio. XM has nothing on it. The radio is easy to use and has more features than I will probably ever use. Excellent value for what you get. The mounting system leaves something to be desired. The suction cup sticks to nothing. I had to velcro both of the units I bought. The remote sometimes won't work. The battery seems to shift and prevents it from functioning. Overall, a great radio for the money!

This radio is fantastic. There is such a wide variety of music to choose from. Highly recommended. Radioshack has great sales representatives that led the way and helped me with everything!!!

I just bought it last night and had it playing in the house within about 5 minutes of ariving home. I was looking at another electornics store but decided to try Radio Shack. I was glad I did because I got the home kit for free ($40 dollar value.) I would recommend this unit to anyone looking. This was very easy to set up and easy to program. Love it.

I love my new radio. I work at a store in San Diego and was contemplating about which receiver to get, but I was talked into getting the Starmate Replay and I absolutely love it. It's easy to use and doesn't get in the way if you mount it on the windshield. It's great if you're looking for small size.

I Love this receiver, I had the orbiter receiver and it was very bulky and was hard to figure out where to put it in the car since the receiver died and Radio Shack replaced it with this one I have never been happier, mounted it on the windshield suction cup right behind the rear view mirror and the receiver sitting right above the mirror. This Receiver blows away the rest I would recommend it to anyone. I give it 2 thumbs up !!!

Great radio, especially for vehicle. Not sure I like it as much as some others for going back and forth car to home since it does not have a base you plug power/sat into. For a car very small and easy to mount. I would buy this unit again, works great!

Great right out of the box! Easy to set up and activation was a snap. Number to call appears right on the screen after channels have loaded (automatically). Only thing so far to be aware of is the suction cup mount in the car. May fall while driving. Overall, 4 out of 5 due to the car mount only. Receiver is solid!

Great radio! I own a Sportster replay and regular starmate but this is the best. Velcro it to just about any spot on your car's dash. Nice and bright display. The replay feature with pause and rewind is awesome!!

This is the best Sirius radio yet. I have had 2 other Sirius radios since the very first Audiovox PNP1. The display is almost too bright and the FM transmitter is the strongest yet.

This is a great radio for anyone who is on the go. I love that I can throw it in my pocket on the way in to the house from my car. The sound is amazing and I can replay my favorites over and over!
