This Radio is a great buy! Compares to the much more expensive Tivoli. Perfect for night table, office or even a small or quiet living room. Not powerful enough for larger area but the sound quality is great. Since it's mono, pulls radio stations much better than stereos. Good bass, balance sound. Partners great with my IPod.

This radio is absolutely the finest sounding device I have ever listened to. The sound it produces reminds be of the far more costly Bose Wave Radio. A true joy to listen to! It is way under-priced for it's performance. Buy one for the home and office. You will be very glad you did.

I was looking at the Tivoli Model 1s around Christmas time and couldn't convince myself to spend the [$] on such a small radio. I found this on a trip to Radio Shack and could not be happier, it was well worth the [$] I paid for it [...]

THIS RADIO FITS IN THERE ...
By BILL D from PHILA PA on 6/26/2007

THIS RADIO FITS IN THERE WITH THE REST OF THE HI-FI RADIOS SANGEAN, TIVOLI, AND CROSLEY. THE SOUND IS CRISP AND CLEAN WITH A NICE LOW END.WHAT MAKES IT THE BEST IS ITS FAIR PRICE!! 1/3rd THE COST OF THE OTHER COMPETITORS. I HOPE THEY BRING A REPLACEMENT MODEL OUT AND MAYBE MAKE IT REMOTE CONTROLLED IF POSSIBLE, AND POSSIBLE OFFER DIFFERENT FINISHES. A FINE RADIO FROM THE SHACK AS SAID BEFORE JUST A RADIO NO CD PLAYERS OR CASSETTES BUILT IN JUST PERFECT. I HAVE MY RADIO HOOKED TO MY DVD PLAYER EXCELLENT SOUND REPRODUCTION FOR BEDROOM USE A1 TO THE SHACK FOR A QUALITY PRODUCT AT A VERY FAIR PRICE.

This is Radio Shack's ...
By David G from Minneapolis, MN on 6/14/2007

This is Radio Shack's version of the $120 Tivoli One radio, and it is a steal. The cabinet is wood grain, not real wood, but it looks sharp. Bought one for my Mom, who needed a simple-to-operate radio with good sound and the ability to pick up public radio stations at the bottom of the FM dial, and nothing else came close under $100. Very good reception with the built-in antenna, and even better reception with the external antenna that is included. And, the best part of all is that it sounds terrific with all sorts of music, including classical, jazz and pop. Vocals are especially clear, and the sound is "big" even at low levels.

By Ryan J from NYC on 6/5/2007

A totally fantastic radio. I love the simple old fashioned styling. It is amazing how "BIG" the sound is from a radio of it's size, totally awsome. Great acoustical design and it's highly sensitive FM Stereo tuner, make this radio an awsome deal for it's low price. This radio is destined to be a radio collector's classic.

By Iris G. C from Louisville, KY on 5/17/2007

After shopping around in department stores, I began to think the standard AM/FM radio had been archived into dinosaurland. Then, I thought of RadioShack!!! I found just the radio I had in mind: AM/FM only, no cassette/CD/DVD combinations. The Hi-Fidelity Table Top AM/FM Radio is easy to set-up, has excellent reception/sound, and the wood-grain finished cabinet exudes a subtlely elegant appearance. The store staff were knowledgeable, helpful, and allowed me time to decide about the radio purchase.

By Larry M from SE Oklahoma on 5/1/2007

What a deal! I was shopping for a portable multi band receiver when I noticed this little beauty on the shelf. It reminded my very much of the Tivoli Model 1 that I had recently looked at but was less than 1/3 the price. I took it home, plugged it in and was blown away by how good it is. I live in what can best be described as a "fringe" area for reception and was immediately impressed by all the stations I was able to pull in with just the internal antenna. When connected to an external antenna I was able to get stations I hadn't heard in years. I was also impressed by the clarity of voices on talk radio and the full bodied response for music stations. The operation could not be more simple. Plug it in, turn it on, select AM, FM, or AUX, tune and enjoy.

Very useful for my little ...
By Mads T from Wilmington, DE on 4/3/2007

Very useful for my little office and especially for limited desk space. Originally I just wanted a radio that would plug in so I wouldn't waste batteries, but the definite plus is the auxiliary cord for using with my Ipod mini. So I can listen to the traffic report and my playlists with just a knob turn. Thank you for this product's versatility.

By Ed S from New York City, NY on 3/21/2007
Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good Value, Reliable

This simply a wonderful radio and an exceptional value for the money. The cabinet is made out of wood, and the faceplate is metal. The tuning mechanism is tight and geared-down for precise turning. The sound crystal clear and has a surprising amount of bass for such a small set. Even at moderate volume levels, this radio fills the room with sound. FM reception is excellent. There is an AUX input to which I connect my Ipod - they even give you the connecting cable for free.

bought this to replace 30 year old Sony tabletop radio. The sound is still a little better in the old Sony, maybe because the speaker is much bigger. Would have liked base and treble controls, but other than the radio is pretty good.
