Don't waste Your Money!!
By Guy with no headphones from East Coast, USA on 6/29/2007
Cons:
Poor Design, Poor Sound
Describe Yourself:
Gear Head
Primary use:
Personal
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

These headphones are terrible. Poor sound quality, sound drops off frequently, and VERY limited range on the sound transmision. Also, the batteries don't seem to have much power, even after a 24 hour charge they only give strong output for about 20 minutes. I expected better from RCA?I was wrong. Do noy waste your money on these.

By Scott B from Knoxville, TN on 5/15/2007

These are worthless.I've tried them in many locations and they always produce the same poor results. The drop out is intolerable. Even with the headphones stationary and less than two feet from the receiver, they lose the signal every several minutes. Save your money and don't buy these.

By Ryan M from Appleton, WI on 5/3/2007

I guess I got the good pair. I have no problems with sound quality. An occasional drop out or static has always been easily remedied by a touch of the auto-tune button. I'm using them in the midst of a WiFi, Bluetooth, and cellular data networks so there's plenty of RF interference that these have to cut through, and they do. My only complaint about these is the flimsy headband part, mine broke, twice and I had to do a little patch job engineering on the band. Sound quality has been very good, satisfied, with these.

Not a good value! Keep looking!! Too much static.

By John P from San Diego on 11/30/2006

Absolute junk. The static was so loud that I couldn't even here anything. The design was horrible too. These were by far the worst headphones I have ever had. I took it back two days after I bought it and exchanged them for the radioshack 33-1197 headphones.

The worse set I ever bought. Took them back 2 days later and got another set. Static sitting beside the base.

By John E from Tennessee on 10/11/2006

Awful. This is some of the worst quality I have heard. I was simply trying to use them with my sound system, and it could not handle mic vocals without distortion and static. I had constant static and a terrible hiss even within 10 feet of the receiver. It cuts out frequently when you try to leave the room or go around any sizable inanimate object in the room (like a foundation column). Edited by moderator. It just has bad sound quality and performance.

By Karen R from Leavenworth, WA on 8/20/2006

First off, these don't fit at all well - they are too wide and slide around. The earpiece design does not sit well; plus, the design of the hinges causes it to get caught in my hair. Next, they cut-out often. There's kind of a thussup sound and they go dead for a half-second or more. Usually right in the middle of intricate dialogue. Then, the auto-tuning button is right on the outside of the earpiece and any touch causes the wearer to have to re-tune - again losing dialogue. When I'm watching tv alone and using the headphones the sound is great. But, as soon as someone turns on the volume (and I keep using the headphones to amplify the sound for me) there is a really annoying echo effect. These are awful and are going back. Definetely not up to the standard I expected.

By Tom S from Oregon on 8/17/2006

I got these and returend them soon after for the Sony ones which are much better. These are very uncofortible and feel vry breakable you have to carge them forever and the still barly hear anything. i was 5 feet from the transmiter and it still was staticy.Do not buy. Go with the sony for an extra $20 they are much better.

By Mark N from Monroe, MI on 8/9/2006
Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good sound quality, Good Value

This model was $20 more than the next model down, but this does come with batteries. After initial charging the set-up to the VCR took 5 minutes. The sound quality is magnificent and the ease of operation is very nice. These were purchased to coincide with my rotating shift, as my spouse can enjoy television/movies without keeping me awake. We walked the house and never lost the signal from our Master Bedroom. A solid bargain and a future workhorse that will compliment two spouses working opposite and conflicting shifts. Expect to master setting the headphones in the cradle after 3-4 times of practice. The flipping and turning of the earpieces to align proper orientation into the cradle is slightly cumbersome, but nothing some practice wont overcome.

continuous dropouts, even with the base only 6 feet from the headphones. I also have a cheapy pair of RS headphones, that work much more reliably than these!

Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good sound quality, Good Value

I was able to fix the buzz by turning the tv (or whatever you're listening to) up and turning the sound on the headphones down. I was also able to fix the padding problem with a couple pieces of foam.

By Anne D from FL USA on 5/23/2006

Fairly easy to use, ok sound quality. But OUCH - I ended up giving them away because there's no padding between the speaker and the ear, just one layer of stretchy fabric, and it became very painful after just 15-20 minutes of use.

By Joe P from Wall, NJ on 3/3/2006
Pros:
Easy to use

Too many drops outs, even when in direct line of the transmitter, plastic head clamp broke during normal use after about 1 year. Be very careful and do not stretch the clamp more than minimum need to fit over head.

By Eric S from Cincinnati, OH on 2/28/2006
Pros:
Easy to use

As others have reported there is a constant hiss no matter the tuning done. Also I experienced audio drop outs for 3-7 seconds at a time when sitting less then 10 feet away from the base.

Can not get rid of the ever present HISS even after extreme detuning. The only benefit that I get from these is that my chair does not run over the audio line.
