I use this product everyday and I can't tell you how much I love it. The crisp clear sound and the static free voice is exquisite. I would buy another one if something should happen to this. Something I don't see happening because it is so rugged. I would absolutely recommend

I use this to communicate with potential customers and the clarity of my voice and ability to hear clearly is critical. This is the best bluetooth I've used - it sounds even better than the landline phone system! I have extremely sensitive ears and this is the only BT that I can wear for hours without pain. In fact I barely know it is there and I never run the risk of it falling off.
However ... when I venture too far away from my desk, the headset sometimes disconnects and powers off and I am not aware until I attempt to make another call and discover it is not connected. Also, it does not automatically re-connect when I get back in range, as my Motorolla does. I must make myself ALWAYS remember to keep my phone in my pocket - AT ALL TIMES - to eliminate this issue. I returned my original purchase directly to the manufacturer for a replacement (because of a different problem - the recharger wouldn't stay connected to recharge the battery) and am hoping this connection issue was just a problem with that particular earpiece.
Other than that I really do love this for the quality and comfort. Those two positives far outweigh the inconvenience and frustration of the disconnect enough that I will continue using this and not switch. I've tried others that stay connected or reconnect automatically - but don't come close to the quality sound and comfort. This is a keeper for me in my business!

I use this in my car and diesel truck and nobody has a hard time hearing me. In the diesel truck people hear noise but not bad and they can still hear me clearly.
The number one best thing I like about this earpiece is that I can shake my head as hard as I want and it doesn't feel like it's going to fall off.
Excellent comfort, secure feel, sound quality and noise reduction.

This is simply the best bluetooth in a noisy enviroment period

I have 2 of these units because the battery life is 5 1/2 to 6 hours of talk time. Not standby time, talk time.

my first one endured over 7500 minutes per month of talk time until I bought another one before they stopped making this excellent product.

Please don't ever stop making this product as I would be lost without it.

Please all you "other bluetooth" users, buy one of these. I am so tired of your "big room speakerphone" sound that comes through on my crystal clear voyager.

I cannot agree with the others that have turned their bluetooth down as I am hard of hearing, but I find the sound to be sufficient.

By R T from Dallas, TX on 9/23/2006
Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good sound quality, Good Value

I bought this a week ago and used it many times under many different conditions. I think it is the best Blutooth headset on the market! It sounds like the person you are talking to is right there in your ear! There is no "echo" on the other end. No interference between the headset and phone (within a short reasonable distance.)I have to turn the volume down about 4 clicks, otherwise it's too loud. It's lighter than it looks. Once you put it on, it seems to dissapear. I use the smallest size ear bud provided and an additional Foam Replacement Pad, sold by Radio Shack (33-376), over that. I will say the only thing I don't like about it is the on/off switch. It's very hard to access, especially when wearing it, but CAN BE DONE with some practice. I also have a Motorola 850...no comparison! The Plantronics V510 beats it hands down! The only feature I like about the M850 is the on/off switch on the closeable "boom". If you are looking for the best overall Bluetooth headset, get this one! (Besides, you can always bring it back in less than 30 days if you think I'm wrong.) Trust me! You won't be sorry!

Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good sound quality, Good Value

This was the second Bluetooth I bought. I traded in a Plantronics 320 because it was to big for my ear. This one has terrific sound, it fits great on the ear. There is no static and it is lightweight. My only problem with this headset is that the microphone sits away from your face about 3/4". I have long hair and it was constantly stuck between the boom and my face. I really liked this headset other than it was not a good design for me. I got a Motorola 700 and just love it.

I bought a 510 because ...
By Jack MVerified Reviewer from Jonesboro, AR on 6/7/2006
Pros:
Good performance, Good sound quality, Good Value

I bought a 510 because others had such great things to say about it. I've used Plantronics with desktop business phones for many years; so I'm familiar with their quality and dependability. I found the 510 to have excellent sound quality both receive and transmit. The volume in my ear was perfect, I even had to turn it down a few notches; that's excellent! Everyone I spoke to with the headset said that it sounded great on their end, no background noise; also excellent! That is the main reason I wanted to try the 510 and it didn't disappoint. The controls were functional but not as easy to use as my other headset, a Motorola H700. The main control, the call button works fine and is easy to use. I found the volume buttons a little awkward, probably because of their location, behind the ear; however, they worked okay. I didn't much care for the power/mute button. It was hard to push which made it very awkward to use and it too is located behind the ear. I really like the way the H700 boom mike folds up to turn the power off and unfolds to turn it on. That really works great and I wish that the 510 had a similar feature. I like to fold my headset and put it away whenever it isn't in use and then simply turn it on to answer calls or whenever I need to make a call; thereby extending battery life. I only have to charge my H700 about every two to three weeks by using it this way. Lastly, I found the 510 to be fairly comfortable. It's lightweight and soft rubber design allowed me to wear it for an hour or so without feeling much discomfort. However, I never forgot it was there; I could always feel it and eventually it did start to irritate my ear. Also, it blocked my hearing in that ear whenever I wasn?t on a call. When I finally took it off, it felt similar to removing an ear plug. Since I only wear my headset when I'm on a call, this ultimately would not be an issue for me. However, when compared to my H700 which seems almost weightless, I'd have to say the H700 is more comfortable. When I put the H700 on, I can hardly feel it and I have literally forgotten that I had it on, several times. I've worn it for hours at a time without ever noticing any discomfort. The H700 is light and very small whereas the 510 is light but somewhat bulky. I have average size ears, not overly large but definitely not small. Both the H700 and the 510 fit my ear perfectly. But my wife who has very small ears couldn?t wear the 510 but the H700 fits her ear perfectly. I have no need to get farther than six or so feet away from my phone so either headset, the H700 or the 510, fits that need. I did test to see how far away I could get before losing connection with both headsets. Both the H700 and the 510 start cracking up at about 15 feet. I could use the 510 up to about 30 feet before it completely lost signal; however, not very well. The H700 worked about the same but broke up more between the 15 and 30 feet separation than did the 510. Neither one worked very well past 15 feet. On the other hand, the 510 beats the H700 for sound quality hands down so for my uses, I would say the 510 is the better choice. If I could merge the H700 design with the 510 technology, I?d have the perfect headset. Maybe somebody will eventually make a headset that both wears and works great. Unfortunately, I have to return my 510 today because of technical issues. For some reason, it just shuts off intermittently. Then yesterday, it went completely dead and I can't get it to do anything. It won't charge and it won't turn on. Having used Plantronics equipment for many years, I suspect that I just got a lemon but I'll see if anyone else has reported this issue and how often before I decide to get another one. The 510 I had didn?t last long enough to judge its battery life so I can?t comment on that aspect of the device.

Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good sound quality, Good Value

This is the second BT headset I use. I bought it primarily because it will work with two phones. You bond the headset with the two phones and whichever phone rings or you start using, the headset communicates with. The sound is superb, and it is so lightweight that I sometimes not even know I'm still wearing it. Great value for money!

Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good sound quality, Good Value

After trying 2 of the Moto bluetooth headsets (H500,H700 which I returned) this 510 is by far much better in all areas. the volume pletty loud that even in noisey conditions I still find myself turning the volume down. People whom I talk to say there is next to no back around noise even in a noisey truck. I also find it very comforable to wear even after 11 hours. The only down side is the 510 doesn't support call waiting that the feature has to be performed from the phone.

This is the 3rd bluetooth headset Ive tried. This has been far better than the motorola h500 and the hs850! I like that the ear bud fits down in your ear, I believe thats what keeps the echo down for the person on the other end since they cant hear it bouncing off your ear and picked back up by the mic. Light weight and comfortable to wear. Nice touch is it has three ear buds to fit different size ears, so far Im extremely pleased!

Very impressed! Had earlier model of Bluetooth, with a transmitter plugged into my cell, it was an excellent product so passed it to my son. Now with this wireless model of comfort and unincummered usage, am so spoiled. Use mine on a Motorola, so am able to take advantage of all the Bluetooth hands-off features. Price, more than reasonable!

This Plantronics 510 headset is the best, I live in a Mobile Home with metal all around and that causes signal bounce, that does not even affect the preformance of the 510 with my samsunge 950.I'm a bit hard of hearing but had to turn it down a little, very comfortable. sounds better than a corded phone. I could kiss the person that designed it. loud rooms are not a problem. PERFECTION!!!!!. thank You

Pros:

This piece is a gem! Great sound quality. Even had to kick it down a couple of notches. Very comfortable. I wore it all day at work. No discomfort at all. I realy like the fact that it's customizeable with the 3 earbuds (supplied) and the windscreen really knocks the wind and road noise down. I would recommend the V-510 to anyone who wants total hands free operation. Way to go Plantronics!

By Steve S from Atlanta on 12/5/2005
Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good sound quality, Good Value

Tried the Bluetrek S2 and a friends Motorola HS820. Neither one (as it seems is the problem with many) is loud enough. The 510 is the closet thing to a corded headset you'll find. The sound is clear and loud (even had to turn it down a notch) and the range is outstanding (well beyond 10 meters). It fits very well and comfortable. No matter how violently you shake your head around it doesn't budge. This headset is the "bomb"! No need to look any further. Plantronics Rules!
