DO NOT BUY OR USE THIS PRODUCT! I was trying to copy files from a recent trip onto my hard drive and after one read it said that I need to re-format my disk. I notice a few other comments about the same problem and wish I had known that before going into the store [...].

By C D from Seattle on 6/24/2007

Works great. Connected to PowerMac G4 without any drivers needed. Exceeds power limit for keyboard's hub, so must plug into tower directly. Basic 10 format capability for under 20 bucks. Problems listed by others likely PC / Windows issues, since unit doesn't exhibit any of its own.

By Bob N from Nope on 6/20/2007

I have an older desktop and it will not recognize the reader. I am unable to upload any files from the reader. I came to RS website looking for a driver, but there is no support here for this product. If you have an older computer, this product is a waste of money.

By Jason MVerified Reviewer from Winter Haven, FL on 6/7/2007

It works for my SD and microSD cards... I've transferred MP3's and JPEG's with no issue. Most of the time, I use it as auxillary storage for files I download from unknown sources. It acts like a jump-drive because I leave a 256MB card in it.

This product is being ...
By Amanda D from NJ on 4/27/2007

This product is being used on an iMac. Although the directions say that this can be used with a USB hub, the computer would not recognize the reader/writer until the USB plugged directly into the computer port. Once I figured that out, I was able to test it out. It is easy to use and I had no problems reading, copying or writing files to/from the SD cards I was using. I just wish it would work in the USB hub instead of taking up on of the computer ports.

I am dissatisfied with ...
By Leo OVerified Reviewer from Fairfax on 4/23/2007

I am dissatisfied with this product's reliability. While it has not lost files, it does not work at all with USB 1 ports (when it should, only slower) and only occassionally shows up when connected to a USB 2 port (logging in and out and restarting rarely helps).

Lost all important files ...
By Larry W from Tempe, Az on 4/3/2007

Lost all important files on first use. Card has to be re-formated after every download. What possible use could this reader be to anyone who cares about what they shoot. BUYER BEWARE!

By David W from Vancouver on 1/23/2007

I own a multitrack recording studio, and I bought this product to transfer my music to my pc and it deleted all of my files. If you are planing on buying this product make sure you are transfering files that you do not care about, because those files were very important to me and i am very depressed because of this product.

This thing rocks. ...
By Brian U from CA on 1/8/2007
Pros:
Easy to use, Good Value, Reliable

This thing rocks. Transfer rate is a little slow compared to USB flash drives, but it works with EVERYTHING. I think the common user wants some kind of automatic interface instead of using it like it was meant to be - as another drive in the Windows operating system. If you can cut, copy, paste and navigate, it's a great tool. If you want something to do it all for you, keep looking.

I LOVE my memory card ...
By A S from DC on 7/27/2006
Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good Value, Reliable

I LOVE my memory card reader. All my friends have digital cameras that accept different types of cards and I want to keep the pics for my own use. SO I just stick their card into my reader and they are automatically uploaded. I plan to buy more products made by dazzle!

Error occurred when I ...
By Tom K from Rochester NY USA on 6/9/2006
Pros:
Good Value

Error occurred when I transferred my SD card files because the connection to the PC was broken. Reader was connected to a powered USB hub. Worked OK when Reader was connected directly to PC's USB port (and not via hub).

By alphonso a from St Thomas , VIrgin Islands on 6/7/2006

Every media that is inserted into card reader is automatically unusable. For some strange reason the media is then seen as read only. Attributes cannot be changed.
