VOX TAPED COUNCELING SESSIONS 2 YRS!
By Ann the Psychic AdvisorVerified Reviewer from Iowa on 9/4/2008
Pros:
Compact Design, High Quality Sound, Long Battery Life, Reliable
Best Uses:
Conversations, Lectures
Describe Yourself:
Technically Challenged
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have had my VOX for 2 years and it has always given me E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T quality sound for my sessions with clients. I have tried MANY cassette recorders and this is my all time favorite. I have taped gospel singers, as well as my client sessions. Everyone raves about the sound. I would be lost with out my VOX.

Backing up 1970's computr
Bottom Line:

1970's computers are still in use and yes they actually back up onto an audio cassette player. (They basicly record a modem stream at 300 baud. (SMOKEN!)) This unit has the tone control and counter that is needed. It also is a heavy duty unit.

By J. M from Dover, DE on 3/23/2007
Pros:
Easy to use, Good features, Good Value, Reliable

The Play button sometimes is stuck and wont stop when you push the Stop button. I have to push down on the Record button then hit Stop for it to work. The Tone control is the best feature. Would be nice if it was like the older Realistic's with switchable ALC and a Manual Record volume control to set the volume for recordings.

The CTR-121 is a high ...
By Al W from Greenfield, IN on 1/12/2007
Pros:
Easy to use, Good features, Good Value, Reliable

The CTR-121 is a high quality cassette tape recorder with an excellant mechanical and elecronic mechanism. The CTR-121 is priced just a few dollars above the Sony TC-929 and The Panasonic RQ-2102 and yet the quality and extra features make it well worth the extra cost. I have tested the voice-vox input mode and found sound quality to be above average but as with any audio application one should consider an external mike for low level speech. I also hooked the recorder to some older Radio Shack computers that I collect and it faithfully recorded and played back the programs. It's nice that Radio Shack offers this quality unit at a fair price. By the way, I work for a power utility and do not have any connection with Radio Shack.

By Sandra S from Springfield, VT 05156 on 11/1/2006
Pros:
Easy to use, Good features, Good Value

Purchased this unit on July 19th and the nurses had a hard time hearing their recordings. They failed to tell me this till just now. I will take it back to our local store and see what they can do for me. Will need to purchase one that is a little more durable for these get alot of use, each shift has to record what has transpired thru the day on their patients for the next shift.
