I've had one of these for nearly 10 years. Never had a problem with it. Goes forever on 2 AA batteries. Sound quality is very good for tape, and the mic is very sensitive. Perfect for voice notes, conversations and random sounds. Easy to import to a computer by analog sound jack. Just get the proper adaptor from Radio Shack.

I use it at school to tape classes. But can't find an ear phone jack that fits. Smallest I found is a 3.5 m.m . Recorder needs a smaller one.

I bought this in a [...] store. Within a week it stopped working. When it is recording or playing a tape it acts as if the drive train, that turns the heads, isn't strong enough to play/record the tape. It just slows down until it stops totally. I have tried changing the batteries and tape but get the same outcome. I guess I figured since I'm paying [$] for 1940's technology it would have to work great... Nope!

I love it. My main use of this is for recording class lectures. I used to use a panasonic RR-US351 (digital recorder) but I could hardly understand what was recorded on there and battery life was so short not to add recording time was ridiculously short. On the other hand, using this recorder allows me to hear everything recorded in the tapes, even when im sitting all the way in the back of a lecture hall designed for 400 students. Its wonderful.
