I work in a law enforcement related area and need a recorder that picks up voices clearly even when hidden. This recorder with the mic/gater clip attachment cord works very well and is quite clear. Very easy to use! I have had no problems figuring out how to use it at all. Makes writing my reports so much easier!

It does not pick up voices during meetings unless
you are right on top of it. The external microphone is NOT available for this product. It is only good
for personal dictation when you have your voice right up to the recorder. If you want it for class,
meeting, or group- DON'T BUY,IT WILL NOT WORK.

I have had this for 3 years, no problems at all. I still use it often.

This machine is terrible for voice recording. The sound is muffled and there is a high pitched background noise (like a vacuum cleaner)and is extremely irritating. The batteries wear out quickly. As the tape goes on, the dictation becomes worse and worse.

Fine for recording lectures and such, has nice index button to mark important points. The battery cover seems to break easily, though

Comes without instructions, seems to switch from recording fast to slow, and playback sometimes sounds strange. Slow FF/RW. I suggest AC adapter or rechargable batteries. Normal batteries go way to fast.
