I changed the batteries because the display was becoming weak. I had done this a couple times before, but this time it never came back on.

This was tested at the triple point of water and gave 33.3 degrees F instead of 32. I haven't dismantled this yet but I doubt there is a means of adjusting the setting internally. I bought a "meat" type thermometer at a different store, accurite brand, that has an adjustment point on the side. No adjustment was needed on it--it was dead on tested at my lab. These were purchased to monitor an air conditioner or other similar situations. Obviously I wish I had not bought this instrument.

outdoor temp consistently 5 degrees high. took the unit apart and noticed a variable resistor inside that is probably used for calibration. must have gotten one that wasnt calibrated very well.

The inside temp was acurate, but the outside temp read 10 to 15 degrees high at all times. Therfore this product is not worth the purchase.

Excellent piece of equipment. I use four of them in a manufacturing setting to monitor fluctuations in temperature and humidity in the process areas. The memory hold utility is the most useful feature, since I was not interested in instant values but to know how much variation in temperature and humidity we had. I recommend it.
