Appears to be a good shredder until the nylon gear strips - and from reading other posts and my experience - it will strip. Sooner rather than later. Not a good design at all.

It has a nylon or plastic gear which runs the other gears in the transmission. It jammed and the teeth of this plastic gear broke rendering the machine useless. I don't know how to find replacement parts or any place to fix it. The shredder is a piece of junk because of this sleazy plastic gear. I guess the company thought they would save money in making it by using a plastic gear to turn the others. I will probably not buy another product made by this company.

The gear that turns the shredder is plastic. If you jam it , and you will, some of the teeth break off of the gear. I jammed it while grinding 5 sheets of paper and the plastic gear had less teeth than a 100 year old person. It is
now in the trash.
