i am a christian DJ and i used to use this for my rig. its really great and it EQ's just fine but one problem i've had with it is well. i get one of the radio stations with it. i'm not sure why. yes i am using sheilded cables and i am using a furman for a power conditioner. now i am using a similart model from DBX that i love. depending on what you ust this for i would not reccremond it for DJing. i've used it in the studio though with no problems.

This is INCREDIBLE!!! I love it!! It'll make your system sound phenomenal. I've been a lifelong audiophile and I've listened to many different systems and I must say, this equalizer is simply AMAZING.

I'm using this in my basement for personal use with a high quality home amplifier and CD Player. It sounds so good, I'm not sure if I'll ever buy another pre-amplifier/equalizer.

I've listened to pre-amplifiers that are $3000, that don't sound this good! Seriously! Don't believe people who say that price equals quality: It doesn't. Sound waves are a very complicated and hard thing to accurately reproduce and the environment makes as big a difference as anything else does.

This unit definitely compensates for a less than perfect environment and can make any amplifier sound good. If you want to be able to find tune the frequencies of whatever source you're listening to, this is for you. There are no cons to this unit. Trust me: You will NOT regret your purchase!!

this is being used in my sound room on a music-only sound system. the system sounded very good before but is even better now with this eq.
you could close your eyes and place all the instruments before, but now you can close your eyes and it seems as if your in the studio with them or in the front row of the consert.
ive used eq's in the past that sounded good but had an ever so slight hiss to them, this eq has no noise, hiss or any distortion at all. as a matter of fact, the last eq that had equal sound quality on my system was an alesis meq-230 that saddley gave up the gost but it cost over twice as much.
do not let the price fool you, this is a great product.

I'M A PART TIME DJ IN A NIGHTCLUB THAT ALSO DOES MOBILES. I WASN'T ACTUALLY LOOKING FOR A NEW EQ, BUT AFTER SEEING THIS IN THE STORE I DECIDED TO BUY IT. VERY SIMPLE TO HOOK UP. ALL THE TYPES OF CONNECTIONS ARE ON THE BACK AND EASILY LABELED.
IT HAS RCA, 1/4 INCH AND XLR CONNECTIONS.
ALSO I REALLY LIKE THE BLUE LED'S ON THE FRONT PANEL AND IT ONLY USES 1 RACK SPACE.

Its too bad that the blue LED's do not have a defeat switch as this EQ was exactly what I was looking for ergonomically, financially for the use I intended it for. (Headphone amp in bedroom for Rock n Roll).
I know the LED's are useful in a rack for DJ use, but these lights made for a disco show in my bedroom, not conducive for sleeping. Either needs a switch to turn it off, or a home use model w/o the rack handle look and the bright, sassy light show!

I have four of these. I'm using one for each source of my home ABUS audio system. The ABUS doesn't allow tone adjustment, and sounded rather flat. Bought one of these equalizers to try out, then bought three more. All four haven't been turned off for over a year now, and are going strong. The LED's are very bright. Great product. I would've given five stars, but I had to exchange one that had low output from one channel.

I bought this thing on a lark, I hooked it up and using a fairly good (better than rat shack), SPL meeter and a function generator, tuned it for my speax. The first thing to annoy me was the level lights. They were extremely bright and far too obnoxious for home use. I spun some simon and Garfunkel... The circuit does add some phase distortion, so you do loose detail but it certainly does clean up the frequency response. Then I let it idle for a while and discovered what quickly forced me to return the unit for a refund. The power transformer is underspecified for the load on it. The thing buzzes if you put your ear against the case, and if you sit it on top of your amp, it will leak so much EM interference that it will cause the entire circuit to buzz too and generate a great deal of noise on the output!! Sheesh, I'd have paid $20 more for a reasonably good power supply....

By Paul M from Cleveland, OH on 3/21/2007
Pros:
Easy to use, Good performance, Good Value, Reliable

I've had this EQ for a month and it works very well. I recently got a Bose Wave radio that doesn't have built-in EQ and is much too heavy on bass and high frequencies. So this allows me to tweak everything just right, and 15 frequency levels is more precision than I've ever had before. My music sounds much, much better now. There is no distortion that I can detect even testing at volumes louder than I'll ever listen to. The only thing I don't like is the blue LEDs lighting up when the EQ's output is above a certain decibel level. They're very bright and I find them distracting. So I have to turn the EQ's volume knob low enough to keep them off and compensate by cranking up my Bose to near-max volume.
