Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I bought it for monitoring my property at night, but its night capabilities are very limited. I could only recognize objects that were within 10 feet or so of the camera, otherwise only bright lights showed up. I wanted to be able to see to the street (40 or 50 feet away), but couldn't. So, don't get this if you want to see at a distance at night, otherwise it is a good product.
