Its great during the day. Wanted to put it under side of roof, when you flip it upside down, so is the picture. Night vision is poor! Even my webcam sees better at night, even with the window closed. Night vision doesnt work at all if positioned infront of window facing out.

We purchased to use for the front of our home since we've had some incidents with children vandalizing our home. We installed in the home pointing directly from the window to the outside and during the day the pictures were clear. We were VERY DISAPPOINTED when we saw the nightvision. All we were able to see was the reflection of the blinds and the lights of the lens although the camera was pointing outdoors. We clean the window in and out and no change in the results. We will try to install it outdoors and hope that the nightvision is better. If you plan to install indoors and focus the lens outdoors it does not work at NIGHT.

The images are crystal clear and the night vision works like a charm. I highly recomend that you buy this camera if you are needed a camera that dosnt have a switch box.

Very well spent time and money!

This little camera is the BEST thing I've come across in a very long time. Well worth the money I spent on it. Quality of the camera, and the audio/video is excellent. I was suprized with the quality of the audio, picks up sounds and voices very clearly. Come with PLENTY of cable to run from the camera, all the way across the house, to my room. Ran mine up into the attic. This camera has IR illuminators to light up the night when it gets dark and they were GREAT. NEver thought I would come across such a great quality product for such a good price. This thing would be great for keeping an eye on the kids while they are in the back yard playing, keeping and eye on kids while they are swimming while you kick back indoors with a coffee. I used a switchable connector to hook this deal up to my TV, connected the camera to the input on my VCR, and put the output to the A/B switcher, put the cable from the cable box to the other input, and put the output to the TV, have it mounted to the wall right next to my desk so I can switch it back and forth any time, and whenever I leave the house I can slip a tape in and put it on slow record and be safe.

Camera worked well for about 3 weeks until it filled with water and died. I installed outside under a stair and wasn't directly in the weather but it still got wet. During that time the quality of picture was ok during the day. Nighttime was alright for an area directly in front of the camera about flashlight size for about 20-30 feet. Still hard to see anyone around my dark green car at night even with an outdoor floodlight. would work well for entryway (shielded from weather).Like a hallway monitor. The nightvision does work well by itself in total darkness for about 10 feet. And notice that the infrared leds are visible and gives out its position.
I would not really say it is an outdoor camera.I now have a 40$ trinket.
I own about 10 cameras attached to my security system. Some wireless, some x10's some lowlight and wide angle. This camera would have been a great addition.

Great inexpensive video monitor

For [$] you get everything you need to set up a video monitor at a much better price then the baby stores. I was going to purchase a wireless baby monitor, but heard so many stories of people seeing neighbors kids in them, I didn't want to take a chance, which is why I opted for this "wired" unit. Not to mention it cost [$]vs. the monitor which was [$]. It turned out great. It comes with everything you need; power supply and 100' foot cord. The wire is the size of a standard phone wire, but at the end it has a normal set of RCA jacks to plug into your TV, and another plug that plugs into a transformer to plug into the wall. Basically, just plug the wires in and your good to go. of course you have to run the wires, so a little DIY skill is required, but agin it's small diameter wire which is easy to run.I was skeptical as many reviews complained about it not working low light situations, but my baby is asleep in a room with almost no light and I can see her great. The cam has 8 IR LEDs which is about the same as most of the video monitors for babys. I have it about three feet from the end of the crib sitting about 3 feet higher then the top edge. It has a view of the entire crib. Ideally a little closer and a little higher would be optimal, but I have it sitting on a bookshelf, not mounted to the wall.I think the key to the IR is it is only effective for about 8 feet, so in an application that needs a lot of IR, this cam wouldn't cut the mustard, but for a baby's room it works great. The picture is clear enought to tell what my little one is doing in her crib, which is what I needed. It worked better then I expected it to.If your TV is old, and doesn't have RCA inputs, you can buy a RF Converter for under $20, to convert the signal to Coaxial (normal cable connection).

If someone comes in the front I can tell if someone is there to help them at the front counter. In the past I would have to get up just to see.

Used for recording studio security, and home security. Had to add more lighting outside for night vision. For the price, I'm happy. Camera is a -mini camera- I didn't expect it to be as "mini" as it really is, either. But I like it more because of its size.

The camera has a metal covering. The camera and base are small enought to fit in the palm of your hand and connects to the 100 foot cable with a RJ11 jack which is kinda weird. It works great in the daylight, I can see all the way down my street. I can't make out my license plate that is 10 feet away though. Great color on it. The Night vision is really bad. I can only see maybe 3 feet in a dim lit area which isn't very good.
