I went up to my friends house with my brothers to take care of their pet's while they're gone and my little brother showed me this laser and we both want to get one of these laser pointers.

On a lab power supply at three-volts, this laser draws a constant 260mA. When first powered, the laser produced 3.6mW at 532nm, but within a few seconds the output power dropped to less than 1mW and continued to fall; the supply current remained constant. This laser simply cannot make and maintain the claimed power. I returned it.

This pointer eats up power fast. Even with new batteries the laser noticeably dims after a second or two of being on.

Very nice for 5mW. Considering these pointrs can cost a few thousand dollars (700mW-800mW)so for the money it's cool and lots of fun.

Flickers and power switch is not very sensitive-appears to just be manufactured poorly-will return it tomorrow

Cons:
Unreliable, Weak Signal
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Pros:
Very powerful. Extremely bright. You can clearly see the beam stretching (seemingly infinitely) star-ward on a dark night. Looks nice, has a quality weight/feel to it. Great dog toy too.
Cons:
Can get considerably weaker the longer you use it (oddly though, it reverts to full power after it's off for a while). Can fluctuate widely in power for no apparent reason. To be honest I think it's a battery problem, and seems to be solved for the most part by not storing batteries in the pointer.
Unreliable, too heavy, it did not work.

Indoor use in a museum. Unacceptable variable light output. Erratic on/off switch. It's too long and too heavy for shirt pocket use. How did this unit pass the quality assurance tests? Not pleased with the product. Reliability is a requirement not an option.

I bought it today and will return it in the morning. It is not reliable it flickers and is very dim about half the time you push the button. When it is at it's brightest it is much better than my red pointers! I'll try another but was pretty upset after the price I paid.

Bought this a few days ago. It's a lot of fun. Mounted it to my Telescope to quickly point to stars without using the view finder. Already cycled through three sets of batteries.

This is by far the best 5 mW laser pointer in the world. At night you can see the beam clearly and it goes for 2 miles. I have looked everywhere for something like this, but nothing else can compare. It is a little high priced, but its worth it.

Found this locally and immediately grabbed it. This product is impossible to find locally, and the price is very competitive. I find the quality of this item very good, heavy and solid. I haven't had time to test the battery life, but so far I am very impressed with all features. This item should sell very well.
