this sub is great i got it about 2 weeks ago and usually by now my other subs wouldve been blown. i reccommend messing with the dials on the back for a while

This little speaker was a fabulous addition to my Plasma TV. The TV has a subwoofer output and this unit is the ticket. It sounds like I've added a home theater system. Great product at an excellent price

this is a follow up to my earlier review.
there was a slight "noise" when i had this sub connected with the high-level inputs. this was due to a bad amp that i was using. since i have replaced that amp, the "noise" has goen away.
if you do the math, with the internal volume of the cabinet and the length of the port, the box is tuned to a little over 50hz. at about 40 hz the sound is down -3 to 4db and is still good to about 37 hz before the driver has no more controll.
it did seem to need a little break-in time and adding poly fill to it helped the some-what "one noted" sound it had.
all in all i am very happy.

I connected this sub to my 5.1 channel DTS system after burning out my last sub. I have had many self powered subs over the years (MTX 12", JL Audio 10", SVS 10") and started looking at this one because of the reviews and my budget. It is surprisingly a good little sub. I ran a bass line down it and heard good sound to about 36 Hz. Below that you really need to go with a bigger woofer. That translates into more bass sound, less bass shaking. If you are looking for having your house explode with the movie soundtrack explosion, then go with a SVS sub. If you are looking to make the movie experience richer and at a cheap price, this is the sub. I am thinking about getting another one of these subs so that is will be running 3 db's higher and the same sound volume. You shouldn't be disappointed. I wasn't.

not a bad little sub espically for the money. i bought this for my music only system to help out with the low end that the main speakers lack. for me, this sub was a little punchy in the 50 to 70 hz range. this was fixed by adding a little poly fill in the box but if you do this, be careful to keep the fill away from the transformer for the amp. this sub preformed alot better than i expected it would. i tried this sub on 2 diffrent amps/recievers, the first was a harmon kardon a/v unit. for this test i used the sub-output on the unit for the signal and i had very good results and no signs of stress with the x-over and levels set up. the second test was with an older kenwood stereo amp/ tuner combo and i used the high level inputs for this test. with the sub hooked up this way, there was a very slight harmonic "noise" at all volume levels. this noise could only be heard sitting right in front of the driver it self. this sound didnt get any louder with volume increases. eaither way this is a great sounding sub for what i am using it for. as far as the "noise" that it had, you would need to have your ear right next to the sub to here it, in normal listning and use you would most likely not hear it. this sound was not present using the low-level input.

very easy to set up at first i was disapointewd with the sound qaulity from it then i was told to move it to a differnt spot in my room, and ever since then i would never think about returning it thinkin about buying another one. great pruduct

JUST GOT A SECOND SUB HOOKED UP,THE BASS OUTPUT WILL BLOW YOU AWAY.IF 1 ISN'T ENOUGH,A SECOND WILL DEFINATLEY DO THE TRICK.GIVE IT A TRY,IT'S STILL ALOT CHEAPER THAN BUYING 1 BIG SUB.AND THE KICKER IS YOU WON'T HAVE TO RUN IT AS HARD BECAUSE YOU'VE GOT 2 SUBS.

THIS LITTLE SUB IS ALOT BETTER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE FOR [$].BOUGHT THIS SUB TO USE TILL I COULD GET A BETTER ONE, GOING TO KEEP THIS SUB AND ADD ONE MORE FOR MORE BASS OUTPUT.TAKE TIME TO PLAY WITH ADJUSTMENTS ON BACK OF SUB,AND TRY DIFFERENT PLACES IN YOUR ROOM.TAKE ALITTLE TIME WITH THIS SUB AND IT WILL MAKE YOU HAPPY.
i now have hooked up a yamaha 11.2 system with 300 watts per channel and it still stands up to the job good for price but bad if you cant hear woords

this little woofer BARKS!
if you haven't got a lot of money and are trying to set up a home audio system then this little guy is for you.
I searched long and hard and found through personal trials that this speaker really sounds great!!
I read the reviews from other customers and thought that they may have been exagerating a little bit. decided to give it a shot since it was on sale and wow am i glad i did only had it one day and already made the roomates downstairs mad.

I have been looking for a subwoofer to replace my existing one A "Sony" that just doesn?t do what it said it would do. It distorts, bottoms out, and rattles, even at low volume levels. I have even set it up with a signal analyzer and oscilloscope and that didn?t make any difference. I had poor luck in finding a good subwoofer that worked as advertised. I kept passing this one by thinking because of the price that it was a low end no quality product. After buying and returning several other products I just decided to buy this one. This product works, like it is advertised to do. The product was easy to connect, very clear instructions. It was easy to adjust, I used a test CD and signal analyzer, and set the dials to the proper setting and WOW!!!. The sound is clear and distinct. Not boomy, or boxy, it is warm and has punch when needed. I have not had it bottom out at all. Doesn?t rattle or distort. I read most of the reviews posted and they are true, you have another believer.

This sub is awsome, i have owned it since 2005, and it has been cranked up alot. And it handles every bit of it. This sub is very tough i have driven the crud out of it and still sounds great. It is used alot during parties.It is heard across the street. And has broken 3 of the pictures in my room, because it rattled them off. I cant say enough about a sub that is only 100 dollars and still sounds this good.I ahve had neighbors call the police because of it. Plan on buyin another one. I also have a pair of yamaha NS-6490 speakers from radio shack that work great toghether with this sub and are only like 70-80 dollar range. Buy buy this sub u wont be dissapointed i promise.

This sub is better than great, it easily out preforms the sony 12 inch 180 watt sub. In my living room i placed it on a 12 inch square piece of plywood because of my carpet and let the port on the bottom breathe, plug into the pre output sub out on the reciever to the pre in (coaxial) input on the sub, I set my crossover at max 200hz and gain or volume at 2/3 or 3/4's and switch your phase to reverse to get the most out of it, on these settings i can rattle picture's off the walls and massage my feet at the same time. make sure the sub is at least 1 foot from the corners to give it some breathing room. trust me experiments work, I love this subwoofer soo much I will be buying another one very soon. i can't belive the amazing sound that come's from these little subwoofer. it was a great adition to my home theater with the onkyo sr605 receiver with my acoustimass bose speackers. now the movies nigths go to the next level with these perfect combinaion. you get to much for the price.

This sub is amazing. I bought it for my girlfriend who wanted to upgrade her system without spending a lot of money. I was extremely skeptical about the sub, but I wasn't paying for it, so I said go ahead. This little 8 inch sub out-performs my Sony SA-W700 sub (Dual 10" 250W RMS) as well as my Infinity Perfect Kappa 10" subs with 350W RMS/1400W Peak and a range down to 18MHZ (which I tried to convert to home theater subs.) This Accurian sub may not get the absolute lowest frequencies, but it doesn't rattle like my Sony sub. I am going to purchase another one ASAP to replace my more expenisive Sony. Buy this subwoofer without any doubts!

you can honestly get more bass from a super tweeter i mean if your looking for a "subwoofer" go to best buy and get one that goes below 45hz i mean what a waste of [$] i would have rather burnt my money than spend it on this piece of junk, and oh yeah 125 watts is the max power of the amplifier the "sub" is 25 watts rms max!

this sub is rediculous 3 dyas ofter having it i already got a noise complaint from my neighbors. its very powerful and comes in really clear this is a great sub especialyl for the price!!
I wanted to add some deep bass to my 2.1 system......Wow, I was suprised at how much bass this little sub supplied. It also seems to go deeper than the 50hz bottom listed. I would recommend this sub to anyone who wants a simple, clean sounding, very solid low end.
..........I was skeptical about this sub at first.....since I owned a 12" Acoustic Research powered home theater sub before. I was blown away by the output and sound quality of this 8" sub. Its an outstanding subwoofer and buy for small to medium sized rooms.
I have a Sony ProLogic at home and then I bought a pair of Yamaha and Optimus speakers. that sub added alot of extra boom. It just rattles the pictures on the wall. You can feel the vibrations on the floor " especially because its wood". I do want to buy 2 more one for the back and one for the side.
Absolutely the best sub to be used as an add on. I work for Radioshack and I have tested most of the equipment. This sub out performed a Yamaha sku #3100103. I used it in my dorm room and was written up by my RA 3 times in one night. DURING THE SAME SONG!!! I had to return it the next day.....
This Subwoofer is very loud.
I was afraid this was going to be a cheap boomy sounding little subwoofer and boy, was I ever wrong! I added this little guy to my Sony home theater system and wow, tight clean bass down to 50 HZ. You won't find a better sub for the money.
I needed a sub with strong clean output from 50 to 200 HZ. This sub produces strong clean base down to it?s advertised 50 HZ (and then some) resulting in a lot of punch. Blends perfectly with my larger subwoofer that produces base from 50 HZ down to 20 HZ. An unexpected bargain!
Nice little sub for an add-on to your existing system. I added this one as a second sub set it at 200hz and have the other set at 50hz...have nice balance now. Volume doesn't seem to go very high but I'm still playing with the settings a bit.
It's nice to get your money's worth or more every now and then!! I think this is the first item I could say an item gets a "Best" rating in every catagorie!!!
Recently tried the subwoofer with a live gig in a room seating 50+. Sent line out of mixer to sub. Had pair of hi/mid range speakers. Used a mic & acoustic guitar. It sounded excellent.
This Sub Rocks, great sub for the $$!! I plan on buying a second one.

Using in bedroom. Isn't a "Velodyne" but a great little sub for a bedroom home theater or a newcomer to home theater/digital surround.
