I just switched from Comcast cable. I first tried DIRECTV for installation but they wanted to drill holes in my foundation to install the wiring with no warranty of any kind. So, I contacted DISHTV. They did not have to drill holes in my foundation but it took them 6 hours to install. Also, if you are a current cable user the first thing you may miss is the clock on your receiver. DISH does not have the clock. The picture is better then cable without the HD. Also, if you have a newer home that has been pre-wired for cable, you may have a TV that will need to have "picture" only access. This is due to the "splitting" of cabling behind a wall between two rooms. You could purchase an additional receiver but unless you or the installer wants to spend excessive time locating and connecting wires on a hope it will work, then it may not be benefitical. If you basement is unfinished then installation is simple. A finished basement takes alot longer.
this product is not hdtv ready, gives a really fuzzy picture
I ordered an Americas Top 200 HD package from DISH with free installation at a great price. What they won't tell you is that the receiver they furnish won't receive HD. The DVR 625 is only capable of getting the DISH "SD" (standard definition) of only 480. I called them and this was no mistake! They advertise that you get an "HD" receiver free.
great standard definition dvr
