got one of these in my living room with two pair of speakers hooked up to it.One pair is mounted next to the tv and the other pair is behind my chair pointed up.I like how it sounds and I say it's as good as 5.1 surround sound.you guys say it's a A/V unit but it's really a stereo receiver because it has no video inputs or outputs in the back.

Pros:
Easy To Set Up, Good Power, Handsome Unit, Phono PreAmp, Remote Control, Very Low Price
Cons:
Limited Features, Poorly Engineered, Requires Open Shelf, Runs hot
Best Uses:
Basic Systems, Smaller Rooms
Describe Yourself:
Audiophile
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Good value for the money. Plenty of volume with efficient speakers. Construction quality is adequate (China). Engineering is poor (U.S.). Heat sink for power amp is internal, entire top of cabinate is perforated for ventilation. Make sure you put down your drink before standing near this receiver! Allow plenty of room above for ventilation, or you will cook this unit. Radio reception is adequate. Connectivity is good for a budget receiver. Phono preamp a plus. Handsome unit. Good remote. CD/DVD sound is good, not great. Recommended for a secondary system.

Great low cost LFE amp

Cons:
none at this price level

I've used 3 receiver amplifiers in the past year with this one able to rival the 20+ year old monster Sanyo amp that I had hooked up. When coupled with an eq it produces LFE sound reproduction below 63hz very accurately. Bass is tight and omni directional. Any one looking for a budget solution for a good LFE amp shouldn't pass on this one. With 4 speaker hookups it allows for nice versatility in being able to run passive sub woofers anywhere in your listening area. I am currently pushing 2 Sony 8" LFE subs and one 12" DUB 200 LFE sub with this unit I can't have enough good things to say about this product. The replacement warranty is a good value also.

"Don't judge a book by it's price"

I bought this unit to replace a 20 year old Radio Shack Stereo amp that is no longer available. I use it mainly to amplify my TV audio. I also like the AM-FM tuner, that receives alot of stations, with the included antennas. I have 2 sets of speakers hooked up, & like the A & B switching. I have 2 speakers on the top shelf next to the amp & 2 on the floor. It really sounds like a home theater system, without the high price. I am looking into a CD & Cassette deck to hook up to it, and have a complete entertainment system. I would highly recommend this unit for anyone who wants the most for the least. It is a great buy!

Easy to use. Connected my BOSE into the system then connected this receiver to my stereo choice box and I now have sound all over the house. Just what we needed for the Holidays.
