Easy to setup up but can't record copyrighted material. So if you are trying to turn you VHS into DVD's this isn't the option for you.

Best Uses:

No problem hooking up. Does a nice job of recording from our satellite and copying movies from VHS to DVD. This is our first DVD recorder and the manual is easy to follow. A must-have for me is a time display (telling me how much time has elapsed on the tape or DVD) and this unit has it. I even like the combination black/silver face. The only possible downside is the remote - the buttons and labels are smaller than these 45 year old eyes would like. Even so, I highly recommend this product.

got this deck after a JVC combo deck died. It says on the back this is actually made by LG, I knew zenith was bought out a while ago. I like the usb input for connecting a digital camcorder. The vcr mechanism feels solid when I insert a tape. It was disappointing to find that there is no tuner in this unit, so you will need a external one or cable box if you want to record a TV show. The remote can be programed to control other brands of TVs but it does not offer very many brand options. If you just need a easy to use vcr dvd recorder, and dont mind it not having a tuner then I would recommend this unit

I almost did not buy this product because of the reviews. Got it home and it works wonderfully with high quality. Made DVD's for all the family of old VCR tapes.

I bought this for my daughter who is 24 yrs old for Xmas and she loves it!! The only thing that she didn't like was she cant FF the dubbing onto the DVD's so in other words she has to watch the videos over and over from start to finish to make them into DVD's instead......and we have TONS of home movies! If any one out there knows if the machine CAN do that...... please let us know! We only had it for a little while so praying it can be done! Debbie/Christina PS...I would recommend this machine!!

The set up was easy, but the performance was bad. The navigation is obscure at best. The most disappointing feature was the lack of quality. Evidently the name goes on before the quality goes in.It had difficulty recognizing commercial DVDs, and when it did, after repeated efforts to mount the disk, it would freeze after twenty minutes or so.The VCR portion was not much better. It was unable to play over half of my tapes, sounded okay but noise instead of video.[...]
