With an LG cell phone that I have, I only had excellent results with it. I decided to get another LG product and once it again, I got excellent results. It's worth your money. Don't waste your money on another brand that cost's much higher. Technology is always changing, so get your money's worth. No regrets when buying from LG.

I love LG products. My microwave, washing machine, and USB Flash memory are LG. I now have a LG DVD player that I purchased from Radio Shack. I purchased this LG DVD player in Tukwila, Washington [...] I would recommend LG to anyone. My DVD player that I purchased is excellent with my SAMSUNG LCD TV.

Awesome product for the price. For the HD up-convert, its great. Theres no need to by a blue ray or full HD due to makers haven't agreed on one or the other yet. HDMI cable doesnt make much of a difference.

I like that it's got an optical audio output, which is becoming hard to find these days in less expensive models. And it will do upconversion (720p/1080i) through the component outputs (not just HDMI), which is fairly uncommon.
What I don't like is that it wouldn't play movies recorded to DVD+RW which worked fine on two other players. The deal breaker for me is that when playing a group of MP3s, it would often skip on to the next track, right in the middle of the song. Again, this didn't happen on two other units I tried out, including a game console.
If you really want a player with a USB port, I would recommend a Pioneer, for just about $30 more.

Bought this unit because of the great price and since I've had good experience with LG products in the past. Like the HDMI output since I also just purchased an HD LCD tv. Sleek design. Easy to use. Great quality, works very nicely. Would certainly recommend.
I'm very pleased with the LG DN788

At first i started out with the Kenwood 8100 which is a little more difficult to operate, then I purchesed an LG DN788 which I'm very pleased with. Both units are the price but I prefer the LG, it has more features and the HDMI output is a nice plus along with the optic output. I would recommend this LG to anyone, it's a great value, trust me.
