we use the remote for a small kitchen tv. i panicked when i realized it had lost its memory of the tv's code because the instruction manual was long gone. BUT i went online and there was the instruction manual under the product support tab at the radioshack web site. it works again just fine.

I bought this remote just today after the one that came with the tv/dvd unit gave up the ghost. I've owned dozens of remotes, but have to say this is the nicest by far. It's thin, slick, handy and simple to program. The buttons are logically located. I have small hands though, and can see where a man with large hands might not like it. But that goes along with most newer electronic devices these days- such as the iPhone, iPod, etc. In short, if you don't have huge hands and you like things simple and sleek, this is a remote you'll love.

After spending all night trying to get the Phillip's 4-device to work (horrid), I got on the Internet and did research at Radio Shack's site ... and read reviews. This not only came up first; it had the highest ratings ... and cost $5.00 less! I was still leary of it ... until it took me only 90 seconds to set up! And so easy to use. Since I only need it for TV, I'm in love!

This particular remote isn't very useful for me. I have owned it for a while, consolidating only a television and dvd player. While I purchased it for the novelty of a thin remote, problems accompany that. The most pronounced problem are the location of the channel and volume buttons. If you have medium to big sized hands, you will cramp a thumb every time you try to use them. Whatsmore, the buttons aren't backlit. If you have the tendency to use your remote in the dark, or otherwise low light, you'll get tired of it quickly.One remote I will recommend is 15-2146, a six component remote. This remote, while discontinued, is still available in very many stores because, for whatever reason, it didn't sell very well. It had been discontinued and the price has dropped by twenty dollars down to $14.97. Versus store wholesale cost, I wouldn't expect it to drop any further. At the most, down to [$]when the product finally goes "devalued". Check it out by searching for the # I provided.The only other remotes I would recommend for casual use are the Philips Universal Remotes that are carried in most stores. A few different models are carried, some even available online. They all have an intuitive keypad layout and I believe all have backlit keys. I'm not able to reference these sku numbers as I was unable to find them on the website after a cursory search.Good luck! Get that discontinued remote!

Replaced a PANASONIC remote! AWESOME, so very happy I finally find a quality, light, and cheap cost replacement. Worked with my Panasonic CRT TV (EUR501450 remote) your code was 0650, RCA remotes did not. Searched the net and thought I was going to have to buy an expensive rare replacement. THIS REMOTE WAS ""ONLY"" AVAILABLE ONLINE, not in the RADIOSHACK Stores near me!
