YOU CANT LAY THIS FLAT ON A PILLOW OR BLANKET THE AMD GETS HOT AND SHUTS OFF DUE TO THE HEAT.I HAD A AMD 3 YRS AGO THEIR THE SAME NOW AS BEFORE
Very good features, nice design, good for all uses except for intense gaming. Bright screen, good keyboard, better than average speakers, a very nice multi-media notebook. Has the look/feel/performance of a more expensive laptop.
Only one small caveat: Some of the extra pre-installed software really slows boot up and response.
When I first opened the lid, I was struck by the gorgeous, brushed-aluminum look of the frame around the keyboard, and also the "contoured" way HP is making this part of their laptops now. This makes for comfortable hands, over long hours of typing. I'm a writer, and obviously this machine is much, much more than I really need, but I like speed. When I click something, I want it to happen NOW. I put an extra Gig of RAM in mine and, wow... Fast and smooth, never hangs.
The only gripe I have with this and other new HPs is that, for some puzzling reason, they decided to place the restore partition at the *end* of the hard drive. They give you a HUGE hard drive -- like a huge house -- but because of the crazy placement of the restore partition, you can't make your own partitions...on this 160 Gigabyte drive! Like a big house with one room! Well, you *can* make partitions - but you'll wipe out your restore partition! Granted, you should make the restore DVD (and you can only make one, so keep it safe!), but this means a lot of inconveniences. HP should put the restore partition at the BEGINNING of the drive, and make it hidden, the way every other laptop builder does it. This way, if Windows ever goes screwy (and it will), and you have to start over from scratch, just reboot, hit F11, and in fifteen minutes you're back to factory default. Shame on HP!
But the computer itself -- oh, what a beauty, oh what a beast. Grab one.
This notebook is fantastic for anyone who wants fun in their computer. With a camera built-in, a touch screen for movies and volume, LightScribe, and soooooo much more, no wonder they call it their 'Entertainment Computer'.
With the capability to go to 4gb in memory and a 160gb harddrive it's a bargain for people like me that want to have a big collection of videos and music. I recommend it in the blink of an eye.
this product comes in handi for school, music, work and things that r useful!!!First it afordable i love the typing program and parental control and it gives u alot of privacy. Everything is great about it.......ITS AWSOME
Has lots and lots of space in it, and lots of other uses like games, internet(if have) and thousands of other activities!!
Good package out of the box with decent expansion capability. Has a variety of peripheral connection ports to attach many devices. It could use a RAM upgrade. Out of the box it uses approx 55% of ram capacity while running nothing other than Internet Explorer on Windows Vista. The included software package is not extra special. Overall, I'm very pleased with it.
I bought this Laptop about 3 weeks ago and so far so good. Love the Display quality and the rest that comes with it. Mainly use it for Music, Movies, Pictures, Internet and personal programs.
If you are a gamer, you need extra Memory(sdram) which it has an extra 2-slots.
