da best and cheap
use from orders by internet my lap top compaq.
[...] This notebook is very unreliable. You can't play squat for games because of the Graphics (Nvidia 6100). I should have gotten an HP desktop instead.
Great for everyday use. Fast and realiable. never froze up once since I got it. Multiple tasking is a breeze with vista operating system. No sluggish down time at all. Best pc for the buck.
First time laptop buyer:As soon as I got this notebook home, I dumped Vista and added XP Pro.. it took 11min from boot start of setup to usable desktop! ^^That's all you need to know. Yea, its fast. This notebook meets all of my demands, and is a good replacement for the bulky desktop I WAS using.Anyone saying this is junk is sadly disillusioned from the Vista in front of their eyes. Get XP on it and you'll appreciate your investment much more. Oh, and get the 2gig ram upgrade. Well worth the price, even if it was [$]. I will get another one for sure in the future, due to this experience.
Not a thing. The computer overheated, cracking the screen and they tried to charge me to fix it. Piece of junk!!!!
This laptop has Vista added, witch means, it has great features, like REALY cool games!!!:):D
This laptop is the best buy out right now. Get rid of Vista, and the rest of the packaged software and it will come to life. Loaded XP and my own software wow what a difference.
Bought this unit and returned it two days later. Wireless cards in Compaq Units are second rate. Get used to seeing system Blue screens with any top rate software. Good for kids or high school ... thats about it. For the same amount of money or less you can get an ACER with better WIFI, better RAM, More HD and less garbage software. Performance difference is amazing.
download music, pictures and watch video. It burns cd's very fast. I haven't burned dvd's yet, can't wait to see how it performs
It worked well for the first month I had the laptop. During the second month everything started to go wrong, Vista malfunctioned, I had to do multiple things in order to "validate" my version of windows that I had purchased with the laptop. I got so fed up, that I went and bought a MacBook.
This is a repalcement laptop used in a commercial vehicle. It is intended to take live video from a digital camcorder, place titling on the video, and store it on two external crash resistant hard drives. In addition, it must also gather GPS info, maintain log books, plan routing, and other related compliance needs. It also communicates with the outside world via cellular modem and a cell phone. It must also print the required logs.
While XP can do all these things and more, Vista won't. HP won't provide XP for this model, either, nor will it support users installing it anyway. Vista has real issues, including refusing to install HP printers and Microsoft GPS devices, two things that shouldn't have been a problem. It won't recognize Sony, Motorola, or Sierra Wireless devices without tinkering. The WiFi also won't communicate with XP computers over WiFi or CAT5 LAN, even with the XP computers having the latest protocols Microsoft requires.
While I would recommend this computer in an instant if it had XP (any version), the Vista OS makes it impossible to recommend, particularly since HP won't support XP.
Also, this is the first time in years I have seen the dreaded "blue screen of death," which pops up at least once daily. The laptop requires frequent restarting, which can take up to 8 minutes, but at least 4 minutes. To avoid driver problems, you must turn of automatic updates, since Windows insists upon replacing working drivers from the manufacturers with their own non-working versions.
Avoid installing the bundled Norton Utilities as well, as it blocks the System Restore function once installed, and cannot be uninstalled.
I use this laptop for business, school, and personal use. I was greatly surprised to see that it performs well running multiple applications and doesn't bog down on speed, no matter to conditions. I have since bought a second one and it also is performing flawlessly. It also comes with a great warranty.
THIS IS THE BEST COMPUTER I EVER HAD,DON'T CHANGE ANTHING.I USE IT EVERYDAY NEVER HAD A PROBLEM.EXC.COMPUTER
I bought this baby at [@]and love it! It's my 2nd laptop and 4th Compaq. I love Vista Home Premium! This laptop will replace my Presario Desktop easily! The widescreen is nice. Burns cds/dvds fast. Wanting to try lightscribe soon!
This computer is great, but the graphics card is obsolete. That means that you can't run xp on it. But since I like playing video games, i installed xp. I had to create my own custom driver to run it. So if you plan to use xp, don't. Just use the operating system that it comes with. Or, use 2 operating systems.
I bought this laptop because it is an absolute screaming deal! As an avid computer builder I know what to look for and what to avoid. I generally avoid compaq/hp at all costs but this is one of those really rare exceptions. For only [$] you get two 1.8 GHz Cps, 1 Gigabyte of DDR2 ram, Windows Vista Home Premium, and a spacious 120GB Hdd. [$] If someone was looking for a good baseline laptop this laptop is for you.
Bought computer 28 days later battery died and internal problems. [...]

I purchasd the Compaq F730US a week ago and so far so good. I really like this computer everything from its looks to its features. I'm able to download a song while watching a Video on Youtube and having several other websites open at the same time without it slowing down. The screen is amazing very bright and clear. The all black color is great looking. The sound of speakers is sharp and clear. Comes with Window's Vista Home Premium which runs nice and smooth. Overall, I would really recommend this computer for it's price and design and featuers it's a steal for less than [$] compared to other computers out there in the market priced higher than the Compaq F730US and offer the same features. Only downside I can think of is the battery life is not that great. With a full charge I get about 2 1/2 of use out of it. Of course I used the computer for the entire 2 1/2 straight the less you use it the more the battery will last.
