This was sold to me as having a DVD and CD BURNER I only recently found occasion to use the DVD Burner which does NOT exist there are to many programs for viewing cds playing etc. not one that works perfect for all needs one works okay for some things but poorly for others and so on HOWEVER the tech line answers with a LIVE HUMAN and you do not have to wait more than 5 MIN this can be valuable YEAH FOR ACER

I like this laptop. It's pretty easy to use. I love that it has the wireless built in. I'm not to fond of Windows Vista. I do like the clearity of the screen. I would get another one of these in a heartbeat!

This laptop is decent for the price. Because of what it is lacking I've only given it a 3/5, but don't take that to mean it a particularly bad laptop, just that I'd expect a few things to be different for the price.
The good:
-very nice looking screen for the size
-fairly inexpensive
-non-integrated video card with some power
The bad:
-small 80GB hard drive
-only has a combo drive, not a DVD burner
-definitely not a good fit for Windows Vista
My Advice:
If this fits your budget, you could do worse, but I would highly recommend you downgrade it to Windows XP. The little power this has is wasted supporting a bloated and graphically intense operating system, and is its greatest flaw.

I bought this computer because the price was great for an Intel chipset laptop. Anything close to the price wasn't Intel based.
I shoot large photographs with DSLRs and edit in Photoshop, this laptop handles it well. I can write my blog Gizmotastic.com from backyard, basement, living room or any hotshop with the wifi built-in. I can watch DVDs or download movies from iTunes in HD.
This isn't a highend laptop, but it fill my needs and more. The only thing I would do is jump the RAM up to 2 Gigs and at this price you can.

This little laptop is good for the price. Hints: cause of only 512mb of RAM, don't expect to use it for high powered programs or games. Windows vista needs a minimum of 512RAM, but 1GB is better. AND don't install windows updates. I did it the second day and my computer got a blue death screen and said my computer was shut down and to uninstall the updates. That's windows for ya. Otherwise, it's a nice computer for the price.
