This thing is really cool. I hooked up my Samsung A707 via the software included using WINDOWS VISTA (YES, you heard right, Windows Vista will use the included software and will work just fine!), hooked up my phone, and away I went. Phone as modem, file transfers, virtual serial port, it all works!
Its seriously as easy as 1 2 3. 1: install the software, 2: plug in the usb and turn on th program, 3: sync your phone and away you go. I also can hook up my Bluetooth Headset, but I don't have a need for it...still, its cool!
Use this to transfer job images to various computers for clients. So far has worked on all XP systems without installing additional software, which is very convenient. Seems to be built sturdy and so far has been very reliable.
The Voice Star Dongle I bought is an evaluation copy and a box comes up saying that my data transfer is limited to 5mbs and I have to register the product before it will work properly. Then the box goes away and they don't tell you how to register. The model # is VS 550 and is made for Radio Shack but I have been to 3 Radio Shacks and they don't know what I'm talking about. Have I been ripped off here? I don't want an evaluation product. I want one that transfers files such as an CD. When I do that an error message comes up so I have to use a USB cable to transfer music to my cell phone. That pretty much makes this product worthless to me.
Works extremly well. Works with Mac OS 10.4 Tiger and Fully supports all functions (OBEX, Headset, PAN, DUN, AVRCP, and A2DP). No drivers needed with MacOS.
Fast data transfer, reliable, good range. On my Mac I use it for Dial-up to an AT&T Samsung Sync for internet access, and to sync my Sprint Touch via Missing Sync.
Installed easily, connected my phone to it and transferred pictures with ease. Solves the problem of trying to find a cable and is much more versatile!
EXELENT. EASY TO USE. PRODUCT VERY VERY DURABLE I ACCIDENTLY WASHED IT AND IT STILL IS RUNNING STRONG VERY HAPPY CAMPER HERE
Works with Kubuntu 7.04 Feisty Fawn (Linux) out of the box
One of the easiest things top use. if you have windows vista do not install the software that comes with it. go to Toshiba's web page, seach bluetooth stack, download, and install. works great! i have recomended this unit to several people.
Very easy to use. install plug and play device. I use the dongle for listening to movies, music and school lessons. I find it very simple to transfer pictures and music to my phone using the dongle. I haven't tried the internet share with two dongles yet, but I plan to.
Can't install it on my PC running Windows Vista. But it ran fine on my wife's PC running XP.
I see no problems with this device. It allows you to add music, photos, videos, etc... on your phone or device ( which is why I bought it). I reccomend this product mostly to teenagers who want "free" music on their phones!
The included drivers cause Win Vista Home Premium to bluescreen my HP Pavillion dv6000
My Dell LT I have 4 usb ports. When you install dongle you have to return it to the same port each time. If you plug it into any other port on your pc it cant find it. Other than that works great! Making my own ring tones too!
