I bought this router for my Xbox live, installing it was a mess it took over an hour to install this router. Tech support was no help because you cant understand a word they were saying. So after i finally got it installed i went in to the room right next to the router and the signal didnt even reach. So i called up tech support and they said that there was something wrong with my wireless network adapter. I would not recommend this to ANYONE!!!

I bought this router because my college-age daughter would unplug modem from my desktop to use her laptop and location wouldn't permit me to use desktop even offline. There was no CD as set-up is now web-based. I printed out instructions before starting. After going through all the steps, the laptop would recognize my network but wouldn't connect. I called Linksys tech support, after half an hour of changing settings per tech's instructions, it still didn't work. Tech said I had a defective laptop and to contact manufacturer. I told tech it connected to unsecured network nearby, so I don't think it's the computer. No more help from them. I contacted a friend who does this type of stuff for a living and he got me going in less than 15 minutes! Overall, it works fine, but why do they make set-up so complicated?

[...]So, i bought the router, replaced it with my Belkin Wireless-G Router and set up the linksys wireless N CD setup in the 3rd floor Main computer. This is how it goes. I have 5 computers in my house: 1 desktop pc and 1 laptop in basement, nintendo wii (internet surfing)in the 1st floor, 1 laptop and 1 desktop pc on 2nd floor, and 1 desktop pc in 3rd floor which all has wireless B and G network cards. So, i ran the cd setup, installed the Linkys router in the 1st floor (so that it can be the center of the house for wireless connection).. and THE ROUTER WORKS AMAZING>>>GREAT SIGNAL, FASTER SPEED, Faster internet surfing, IT'S NOTHING compared to wireless B and G routers. The router reaches to 3rd floor with 3 FULL BARS and not even one disconnection or limited connection EVER...So i suggest you all to buy this router, its unique, small, great lookin style router and no antennas to worry about. Works great. Have connected to four different computers. Three Windows XP, and one Windows Vista. Will not work with any other programs, from what I heard. It is very fast, blows wireless-G away. Works with Wireless-G and -B network adapters. Well worth the money!
