Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
The Drive Caddy and Bay is made of plastic. Once installed it does not matter. The Bay connects in the same manner as a DVD/CD drive would in the bay. I intend to use the drive to cold swap between Linux and Vista. I hate duel boot drives.
